It’s not the whole trilogy. Just one game.

Asylum and City run great. Knight does not.

It’s just this game. It’s the hundreds of others that were shit out in this system and Nintendos bullheaded refusal to focus on hardware anymore. It’s even been proven the switch can run games better with a minor overclock yet the hardware is locked.

If that’s not enough, they’ve had chances to do a hardware upgrade like a switch pro or something, but instead we get smaller screen or bigger screen. Gee thanks, that’s really important where 90% of the time I’m trying to enjoy big games I’m on my big ass tv.

In the meantime, they’re funding movies and toys and the Mario theme park. Hello? It’s like ever since Wii U they’re fucking scared to deliver anything remotely concerned with performance.

This is why, if Nintendo can’t get their shit together for their next system, I’m done with their bullshit, period. From someone who’s loved them since NES, every system they release since the Wii just feels like a slap in the face to true gamers. I’m all for gaming for everyone and family friendly and all that, but how can anyone enjoy this shit anymore? Boy I sure love playing Zelda at sub 30fps with significant slowdowns the second I even try to use ultra hand.

If they want to be stubborn about it then they can end up a software publisher only for all I care anymore. It’s like they don’t care. I’ll refuse to buy another Nintendo system. Just try me. Go the Sega route Nintendo.

No it‘s not. I played through the complete Arkham Asylum in just a few days and now I’m on Arkham City – and they both are decent and very much playable. I think it depends on what you expect. If you want a high quality port with modern graphics and 60fps you surely play the wrong version. But if you just want what you had back in the days and want it mobile, you can enjoy exactly that. Personally, I absolutely enjoy(ed) playing those two games in handheld mode in bed at night…

Arkham Knight though… meh, that‘s a whole other story! From what I have seen for now I don’t think patches can help here…

Is this the new Nintendo trend? Every time they bring a game to the Switch for the first time, it ends poorly unless its a platformer, rpg, or a retro game.

  5. McWaylon

Most of this could be avoided if they allowed you to buy the games separately

  6. Memphisrexjr

That’s what happens when people want every game to be on Switch.

  7. itsnotawkward

I’m enjoying asylum. First time playing it, and I only have a switch. Expectations 🤷‍♂️

  8. InfamousExcitement80

It should be cloud gaming, like Control and Re:Village

  9. mtwjns11

I’m kind of worried there isn’t going to be a patch, and Knight’s Batmobile portions will just run like garbage forever.

  10. Double-Passenger4503

Insulting? Can we relax a bit? It’s a bad port, just go play it on PC or console and move on

  11. jgreever3

I’m really more surprised when big game ports run well on Switch than when they don’t.

  12. FerdinandvonAegir124

Arkham knight can absolutely run, hogwarts legacy/Witcher 3 proved that. It just needs to be better optimized

  13. blood_omen

Hey look! The 15th time this has been posted! Waow!

  14. DankDefusion

People keep buying garbage and defending it, plain and simple. Look no further than the comments in this thread.

  15. pork_fried_christ

Mmm I’m not convinced. I think I’ll need to see *another* 2 dozen or so posts like this. /s

  16. Not every game needs to be crammed onto the switch

  17. Have_A_Jelly_Baby

I’d love to know whose idea it was to attempt Arkham Knight. Could have just done Asylum and City for $39.99 and watched it sell like hotcakes.

  18. owenturnbull

I have played city and asylum and they are great. Haven’t played knight. But the port is not insulting.

  19. scrffynrfhrdr

Switch and shitty ports, name a more popular duo.

  20. Gr8BigFatty

I wouldn’t be mad if they just gave up on Arkham Knight for switch and refunded it with an arkham origins port or somthing. Unless they can actually do something with a patch.

  21. Pendejo_Guey

If anyone thought Ak had any chance of running well in switch. They were just lying to themselves. It’s been proven many times that switch can’t handle PS4 gen games. Switch doesn’t fine with PS3 stuff though.

  22. Tigerglue

Good. Now write the same article about Pokemon Scarlet / Violet.

  23. People here defending Arkham Asylum running on 25 fps on Switch, a Xbox360 game from 2009 meanwhile Valve rel-released Portal and Portal 2 on Switch for 20$ for both and made them run on 60 fps (double the frame rate from PS3 release). this entire trilogy is shit, not just Knight. And we’ll continue to have shit ports because most people accept mediocrity and defend them as if their lives depend on it

  24. No-Sherbert-4045

I wanted to play all arkham series games including origins before suicide squad and figured portable is the way to go, but these ports are egregious. Just gonna play on pc.

  25. CoDe_Johannes

One of this games was famous for running like crap on PC… yeah, I was expecting “insulting” performance on switch.

  26. ApplicationOnly2010

Yeah it sucks. I still bought it. Enjoying it.

  27. matti2o8

I still can’t fathom how someone thought that porting a notoriously hard to port game, to a console that’s notoriously hard to port to, was a good idea

  28. WackMcChicken

Switch-only console owners are why these garbage ports keep happening. They would accept shit in a bag, as long as it’s portable.
