Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
The new season of Timeless Travel has been announced with buffs to pokemon like talonflame, toxicroak, and azumarill and nerfs to steelix breaking swipe and medicham. Here is a full analysis of the new buffs, nerfs, and pokemon with new moves.
This week is ultra league and retro cup. Retro cup is a 1500CP (Great League) with steel, dark, and fairy banned. These banned typings lead to an increase in flyers, ghost, and dragons in the meta.

Dan I learned how to screen record my battles recently and recorded my last 2 sets on the first day for a critique video
I went 6-4 with double charm in retro cup on my last 2 sets on the first day (could have been better or worse, trust me those sets were really wild)
I hope you’ll be interested in showcasing my battles, though I feel sending it during the last two weeks of this current season would be more relevant to viewers in anticipation of the beginning of next season

I took Emolga on a 16 win run in retro cup with triple axle froslass in front, and whiscash. Acrobatics does way too much damage lol
Admittedly due to phone problems and the events not sparking my interest I’ve become disillusioned with the game and taking a sabbatical but I still enjoy the content. Keep it up 😊👍

Do you know why Lickitung is up there but Lickilicky isn’t?
I’ve got 100% Lickitung but he’s only 760 so it’s going to take a lot of stardust to power him up, but I could evolve him and he’d be at 1400 so I could power him up for much less dust.

I can't wait to get some ice types soon. I'm only a few months in and I need ice and dragon types for pvp. I've come across double dragon and a tropious.
I wonder if I fought you this morning. I came across this team and I barely lost Dubwool, jellicent, and froslass.
I ran a triple dragon team and honestly did surprisingly well. The team was:
* Kingdra
* Arctibax
* Turtonator
They're all dragon with a secondary typing that resists ice, so only pokemon that can learn fairy moves are going to be a problem (Skeledirge, Cress, etc). Aurorus is also kind of an issue cuz you're double weak to rock and ice is neutral. So safe switching arctibax to check for an aurorus in the back is sometimes the play.
Do you ever consider running pvpoke rankings with baiting turned off, like as a default for all your analysis? I only ask because you’re pretty consistent about not baiting, but all the rankings are perfect bait scenarios.
I hit an unexpected wall using team 2 against Charjabug. Maybe it's because my Dragonair was not shadow form. But thankfully didn't encounter many charjabugs so still had an excellent run!

I've been running shadow dragonair in the lead with Ice Beam Miltank and Milotic in the back. Milotic has been the MVP of this cup for me beating dragons and the ice types that beat dragons. I'm willing to go down a shield to maintain alignment, and today I won 17 out of 20 retro cup battles. Is there a place for Milotic in this cup?
