Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
The new season of Timeless Travel has been announced with buffs to pokemon like talonflame, toxicroak, and azumarill and nerfs to steelix breaking swipe and medicham. Here is a full analysis of the new buffs, nerfs, and pokemon with new moves.
This week is ultra league and retro cup. Retro cup is a 1500CP (Great League) with steel, dark, and fairy banned. These banned typings lead to an increase in flyers, ghost, and dragons in the meta.

I was already running Poliwrath on my main account in the UL, and on my alt account in the GL.
And they were strong then
Since the buff, my alt has been a menace with counter/scale/dynamic punch
I'm excited to see how it plays in the UL. Kinda considering Mud shot + Icy wind for the spam, but I hate to TM away a com move
With team building around Lanturn, it seems hard to cover all your weaknesses
The lanturn vs giratina matchup is not bad as you might think. It’s still a loss, but lanturn is so bulky than it can actually put in some work in that matchup

Lantern was my FIRST good GL Pokémon when I started playing one year ago, I used it ever since and cannot get enough of it, let my fish shine!
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you run registeel, giratina, verizion, cresselia, or cobalion; you are what’s wrong with this game and need to stop playing. Spoiler alert: every team suggested contains basic b*tch mon.
The only problem I find with this observation about the top 20 is that they are XL… for I don’t know many to few that still playing this game it is okay they had these mons already build!
But for the ones trying to play am that started let us say last year to this past go fest… it is a unplayable league!
One example is Sandlash a regular one will run about 296 XL candy am 400k Stardust am shadow will be 365 XL candy am well you get the picture! On top of that the IVs do matter a lot not so for the league but a player only gets to build one!
Play Politoed in UL with Ice Beam and Scald.
got lhundo lanturn two seasons ago and used to pair it with a hundo owl and a pidgeot, had so much fun with that team against the trevenants and pidgeots, you used to corebreak charizards on the lead too
Tired of seeing the same shit over and over, the league is getting old. If we can get some random battles instead of algorithm aligned matches it would be so much more fun
I evolved a fletchling for a talon just to find out it won’t hit 2500 and it’ll cost 450k stardust to not even hit the max 😵💫

Playing Ultra League right now and man is it a boring meta. They should have buffed Breaking Swipes damage if they were going to drop its debuff rate to 50%. Electric Pokemon need a buff since they’re all squishy. Honestly Steelix wasn’t even a problem last season. Fighters are everywhere in the meta.
