Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
The new season of Timeless Travel has been announced with buffs to pokemon like talonflame, toxicroak, and azumarill and nerfs to steelix breaking swipe and medicham. Here is a full analysis of the new buffs, nerfs, and pokemon with new moves.
This week is ultra league and retro cup. Retro cup is a 1500CP (Great League) with steel, dark, and fairy banned. These banned typings lead to an increase in flyers, ghost, and dragons in the meta.
Skeledirge is one of the best starter pokemon that does not have its community day move.

Well, you replace disarming voice with blast burn and get a double nuke Pokémon with 5 turn fast move. I find the 5 turn fast move a big issue, it would be much better with shadow claw.
I’ve been loving running it as a core with guzzlord. They cover each others weaknesses really well. Tapu Fini is a problem but it can be managed
I do like Skelas move set. Incinerate is a double-edged sword. Which is kinda the point.
Poli being a debuffing machine is going to get him nerfed next season
I imagine in lower ranks where people don't really time moves properly, incinerate is probably a lot more meta.
Adding onto that, you're way more likely to get a free incinerate through too

on that Ampharos lead i think you overthought it, if they are not allowing you to get to 3 Incinerates before they throw they are giving up 3 turns too on their first move. So you can go 3 Incinerates -> they throw (12 turns for your 15) -> you go 1 Incinerate and throw (5 turns to their 8). It offsets nicely for you

Wonder if torch song skeledirge is going to be good vs blast burn similar to how leaf blade sceptile is better than frenzy plant one apparently 🤔🤷♂️
It can also get torch song which it’s signature move that buffs it’s special attack by one stage. Could be like a strictly better flame charge or something in Pogo

there are a lot of ultra league pokemon, not meta by any means, w good movesets that dwell in the #40-120 range in pvpoke. i build one into a team w 2 other meta mons and i get more wins w these types of teams than a completely meta team. i hate to be superstitious but i feel like i get better 'algorithm' luck when i do this esp in the mid 2000s

Even though the 5 turn fast move is infuriating to use, there aren't too many pokemon that are able to wall the gator's energy
hey Dan, I've been having problems in PvP lately. frozen game on the last attack I could have won. Several times I experienced this, I thought it was a cheater, but it was not natural because it was often. Then I remembered again was it because I was in a party? Because at different times it happened the same time when I was in the party. Is this a glitch?
Skeledirge’s move in scarlet and violet is called Torch song and it’s a pretty broken move. It is a hard hitting move but it also buffs your special attack everytime time you use it.
