Anyone know why ratings are placed on the front and back? Especially when the cases are generally stored where we can only see the spine.

Edit: shout out to the publishers who include a double sided or reversible cover with just the artwork.

No one is enforcing the ratings in that region anyway so…

Shouldn’t have a rating anyways. Parents obviously don’t care nor do they ever follow the ratings. Esrb especially is useless. At least half the GTA V players are kids.

It’s a good thing anyway the game will have the rating but it won’t ruin the cover

If we could get those clean covers at Japan weak yen prices, I’d be thrilled. I know, SEA isn’t JP.

Why did they have an ESRB rating to start with?
    That’s an American rating body

Maybe they thought something is better, I guess

Wonder if it means that future Pokémon games sold in MSE will finally use the metric system for the height and weight in the Pokédex?

MSE rereleases of old first-party Switch games would probably have the latest cart revision (if applicable).

Why? I read the article to find out why and it just… doesn’t say anything. Just oh hey now no more ratings on the boxes. But why? Why not? What? Is there just no rating anymore, only a rating for 18+ now? I just don’t understand why you’d suddenly stop rating games.

Will this apply to games sold in the Gulf (Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain use PEGI there) bc it might be odd seeing ESRB ratings on boxes in those regions and the KSA and UAE have their own ratings applied, replacing ESRB/PEGI.

Maybe this has something to do with resellers importing and listing MSE titles as NTSC and severely undercutting the market. I admit I’ve purchased a few MSE games unknowingly because of the ESRB rating on the front.
