TOTK Keychain: As Advertised vs. Reality

Image 1 is the product as shown on the official shop website.

Image 2 is after being in sunlight, charged, and yet only the center rectangle area glows (dimly).

    That’s blatant false advertising.

I know it’s a cheap ass keychain, but still false advertising.

You are lucky I guess. Mine is not glowing at all

  3. dekuweku

Mine doesn’t even glow at all. Is it a Canadian thing?

Need someone with a UV flashlight to test this

I’m in the UK, and I think that I am the only one who has a perfectly functional one.

Was contemplating redeeming my points for one of those. Thanks for the warning.

  7. yeah, that’s a shame but these things never look as good as the ads try to show them being. I’d recommend getting a flashlight and just blasting it to see if that improves it.

Interesting, I got mine when it first came out. It glows perfectly fine. I’m in the US.

I have not been impressed with the my.nintendo rewards lately at all.

I hate to be that way, but compared to the club nintendo rewards we got, these feel like a downgrade, is it just me?

I think my whole thing glows…. I’ll have to check later.

I mean, it looks fine OP? How much more glow are you expecting from a non powered phosphorescent source?

Second, you took a picture while hand holding a cell phone versus a studio shot which has been adjusted to take pictures in low light.

You need to put it under a UV light for full effect. Putting it in the sun or a regular LED flashlight never works as well. Then it would glow as much as the picture.

I got one too and was laughing so hard from it. This thing is flimsy and thin as heck and yet still MASSIVE for a keychain doodad.

And you still have to pay for shipping so it’s technically not “free”.

That’s odd because I got one right when the game came out and mine glows. Maybe send this to Nintendo, they may replace it.

Mine didn’t glow at all lmao. On top of that, the attachment piece tore after just a few weeks of routine use on my backpack. Unfortunate :/

you vs the medallion she tells you not to worry about

  17. Holy shit I’ve had this on my keys since TotK came out and no idea it glowed at all until this post.

This just in, glow in the dark material is inconsistent. News at 5.

Here’s some photos of mine. Honestly better than advertised if you ‘charge it up’. Not that i actually need it to be like this.

Mine is the metal one if that makes a difference

I never tried to see if mine glows in the dark. The actual keyring itself is fused together so I can’t actually loop it on to anything. Very odd.
