Pokemon Masters EX – 15000 pts Pasio Special Stadium – 12/21/23

I’m playing Pokemon Masters, a mobile gacha game set on the island of Pasio. Collect many Pokemon waifus and husbandos and participate in unique battles involving sync pairs.

This Special Champion Stadium (SCS) was particularly difficult, and I had to reset many times for the first, second, and fifth fight. Not only was this the first SCS that featured the new 15000 point maximum rewards, but this SCS also included many difficult battles (no Johto or Kanto). Because I tryharded the water high-score event, I have decent units to tackle this challenge. But I can see this being the most difficult SCS, just because of the new 15000 point limit.

The first fight was very difficult because Malva’s Pyroar does so much area-of-effect damage under that sun and burns your whole team. I was initially using Dojo Gloria, but that team just didn’t do enough damage and died to burn. Instead I off-typed this battle with Neo Champion (NC) Red, since Irida can set up hail and NC Red can freeze the Pyroar to prevent burn.

The second fight against Shauntel I found difficult because of the burn and sun as well. I was initially using Palentine Serena with Barry like I used to way back when. But she died way too easily, so I switched her with Elio, who is a surprisingly good replacement. I never used Elio because I unlocked him pretty late into this game’s life cycle, but he can lower speed and do okay damage. NC Blue was good this fight to buff, to heal, to remove burn, to lower enemy’s attack, and to raise team’s defense. NC Blue isn’t the best support unit for no reason.

The fights between Flint and Olivia are not that bad because they don’t burn you and don’t set up sun. But that final fight against NC Leaf is very difficult. She does so much damage, so it’s almost required to set up a different weather effect besides sun. I probably could have off-type this battle, but I thought it would be easier if I just ran with Sygna Suit Lysandre. Blue is very important this battle, because he can prevent your whole team from dying to Leaf’s Heat Wave after her first sync move. Other strategies would be to flinch, freeze, or sleep the Moltres so that you can stop it from wiping out your whole team when it attempts to use Heat Wave. This was one of those battles that I was barely not doing enough damage, so I rolled some gear. I haven’t really been taking advantage of this new gear system, so I turn towards it when I need that extra damage.

Thanks for watching!
