in 2k eggs the 1 star egg pool version of rockruff is not duskform, but the rare 4 star egg pool is duskform and can be evolved at "sunset" local time. same goes for the 7k eggs rockruff duskform at 5 star rarity. raids are random on what form you can encounter.
How can Niantic be this incompetent?!
I got the new Lycanroc on my first raid. Finally something goes right for me in this game.
I was excited because I have 2 shiny Rockruffs for this release but once again they always add a catch to anything, I'm gonna pass on this mon. 3/4 for the shiny family is fine with me. – I can imagine what the other releases this year are gonna be like!

Took three raids – none of which had anything to do with Campfire – and I finally got my dusk-form-enabled Rockruff. I'll continue to try for one with better IVs, but at least I have one.
Another way to tell on raids if you do not have campfire. Is that if you look at your raids near you. If the rockruff shows up as a shadow like a Pokémon that you do not have registered in your dex . It is definitely the dusk form. After you catch one then you will not be able to tell this way. Obviously
You can get dusk form from research too just fyi

Random question but does anyone else feel like the wild shiny umbreon and espeon don’t exist for this event? There’s lots of people who have found multiple of them and no one has been lucky to get them shiny.
Yes, I wasted 25 charge TMs last night as I don't have any elite charge TMs.. I am from India..
Went on campfire and went to the rock ruff raid without a picture and got the shiny first raid
Yeah it’s lame af. Now there is 2 versions in the eggs. And the raids are sketch from the comments it looks like there is a work around.

for those wondering there are 2 forms of rockruff in the main games aswell
normal rockruff (which evolves into day & midnight form lycanrock)
and rockruff with the own tempo ability (which can only evolve into dusk form lycanrock) since abilities don't exist in pokemon go Niantic had to figure something out.
I've only have ever encounted like 3 rockruff and haven't barkey evolved all three forms this event. Now ive done about 5 raids and hatched about 10 2k eggs and have got n the dusk form about 3 times. Its been a tough one especially a shiny i have 0.
Which time we will be able to evolve the dusk form
I had both older forms, the raid for dusk was showing as black unregistered so there you go easy enough 😅
7 raids and no luck so far. I even got a shiny which can't be evolved. I already have shinies of the day and midnight form so it's pretty disappointing.
check my Decideye today (its around 10 am monday) and now Spirit Schakle is in the movepool again

Don't understand the constant whining about this, collection game wants you to collect, don't pay to do it. If you hate the game and the devs, stop making money off of it.
I promise this event is just for you to waste your time trying to get dusk form or maybe in the shiny form, just to release it in the near future with a much easier way to attain it. Don’t waste your time.
I got one that can evolve from research
The rockruff is in 2 different tiers in the eggpool im guessing the 1 eggs rarity slot is the midnight and midday forms and the dusk from is in the 4 eggs rarity slot

I wasted like 20 tms trying to get shackle on 2 different dedidueye
I hate how you can only get it by raids bc I love dusk form lycanroc from the sun and moon episode and it’s such a shame they did us like that 😢

By Niantic releasing the new rockruff this way it actually caused me to close the game entirely and not spend any money at all. I also have 4-5 hundo rockruffs from the past that I cannot evolve to the new form. And I’m not about to light money on fire just to get another good one or a shiny. @pokeAK
Tbh i think they should just put that form in raids.

Yep, a chance. I hatched prob 15 eggs and raided 2 raids. Guess what no dusk form. Money hunger people. What a scam…

Wasted a remote raid pass because I have multiple Rockruffs and a raid showed the rockruff sillhoutte like I didn't have it yet. Did the raid and it turned out I couldn't evolve it into dusk form. Absolute rip off.
I’m really pissed that I hatched so many and raided a lot rockruff finally got a shiny Rockruff and it won’t evolve into duskform :/ now that’s messed up Niantic did me dirty got so happy to see a shiny duskform
