Nintendo Switch

What were you doing on March 17th, 2015?

This is an important date to note, because this was the exact date that two things happened in the world of Nintendo:

1. Nintendo announced they were branching out to creating mobile games with development partner DeNA.

2. Nintendo first publicly teased their next dedicated gaming platform, [the NX](https://www.eurogamer.net/nintendo-nx-is-new-hardware-with-a-brand-new-concept).

They were quick to state that the NX “wouldn’t replace the Wii U or 3DS,” but we should’ve known this statement ultimately meant nothing. That’s because that exact thing very much happened with the Switch over time, as it also did when Nintendo said the DS wasn’t going to replace the Game Boy Advance. They were also quick to note that NX would be a “brand new concept,” and people began speculating what that was on the codename alone. Nintendo Cross? A possible console-handheld hybrid? Who knows.

But besides all that, what do you remember yourself doing on this date? And were you following the NX and mobile game news and discussions around this time? This was early 2015 so I was still in my freshman year of high school, and I thought it was shocking but didn’t pay it much attention until we got more details about them down the line.
