This week is open great league, ultra league, and master league. It is also Go Battle Week, running from riday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time
Bonuses include

Thoughts on using S Dragonair instead of Annihilape? Good climbing team?
Do you have a team you recommend to try to climb with from the 2300 Elo range?
I’ve been using S Dragonair/Lanturn/Skarmory but I’ve run into the same problematic matchups you bring up in your video (eg, mudbois)
Do you think a S Gligar/Lickitung/Bastiodon team would be viable? Would need to re-learn matchups/scenarios to see when I can win lead vs SS w Lickitung and shield scenarios but feels like it could do well in this meta
I abandoned the GL because I lost like 200 elo In one day and jumped into the UL for my first time. I had been building Pokémon but hadn’t had the courage to try em out because there’s a ton of legendaries but I’ve recovered everything I lost. Been pretty cool but I have a new hatred for cresselia
GL has become a mess due to Scald RNG…. I love it when i get 0/2 and my opponent gets 4 consecutive debuffs in the same game. The game mechanics need to change, it's a mess!
Also played against a Steelix who surprise surprise, got 4 consecutive Breaking Swipe debuffs and 0 fails. wtf is this?
They should change the chance for the 2nd one to half (for all debuff moves in general as in if it is 50% for first to 25% for second) to make it playable, this is just a disgrace!
I've been having the same issues with GL. Jumped up from 1900 to 2475 ELO in fantasy cup before I ran out of time to hit veteran, now I can barely stay above 2100

The struggle to find some consistency is killing me too. It’s like one day my team crushes it the whole time and then the next two days I can’t win for my life against a string of wild teams I haven’t seen

No fucking way I made this team like 4 days ago with skarmory as the lead and I went up like 400 elo in the past 3 days *barely playing*… now everyone is gonna counter me lol

Fast forward is absolutely fine, but should be done by speedup (even if it's like x8), not skipping. So you don't lose the context.
so why did you prefer the NS say over IP? is it purely for spamability?
bouncing between 2k and 2300 for about 3 days now. meta isn't stable at all.
Personally I'm happy Skarm got some love in a balanced way (steel wing buff), but I'm also bored of all the Skarm/Cash cores… I'm in a weird place with one on my favorite old school pokemon.
I was running regi azu megainum and gained 250 elo, then didn't play Tuesday. Went back today, played 2 sets, and lost 100. 2 1-4 sets in a row… too many lanturn for the azu. Any suggestions for a replacement safe switch?
That’s crazy, I never knew Skarmory loses 2 shield scenario to Trevenant. I believe I would’ve saved a shield in that scenario. Guess it wouldn’t have mattered since they always had the Venusaur to align with your Lanturn tho! I’ve finally found love again running Gligar, Mandibuzz and Lanturn in the back. I’ve had a ton of success recently with it.
How does this do with the vic/bas/wiggly
I feel like there’s always a flyer in the back when Licki is on the lead. Feel like I would’ve kept my lanturn alive for that reason in the last battle. Always enjoy the content Dan. Thanks!
Any team team with Annihilape in I will try it. I really like the Pokemon since Scarlet/Violet
Hey Dan. Been having a ton of fun with mantine, serperior, lanturn. Weak to steel, dragon but has had some really fun play. Whole team has the bulk to deal with bad leads and serp/lant seem to cover mantine pretty well. Would reccomend this team and may submit some battles using it. Appreciate your coaching and knowledge
I've been using this exact same team and had some success with it. I settled for Skarmory lead as I wanted to keep Lanturn in the back for any Talonflame looking to sweep.
I wonder how much better steel wing really is and if sky attack maybe is runable. There is so many situations where I come in with skarmory thinking "oh yea I'm gonna destroy this" and then they will just double shield with their fighter or with a trevenant and they just win the match-up :/. I just don't see a lot of Carbinks right now, and other fairies asides from A-Nine you destroy anyways. And Azu you loose anyways. So what do you think?
