I’ve been shafted by all my pulls this month, so getting SS Leon is at least a good consolation for this months new unit pulls. Also always good to have another dragon striker. Lets break down his kit.
At first glance, Sygna Suit Leon may look like he has everything going for him: he’s fast, has a good Sync Move multiplier, he can buff all of his relevant stats, has a 4 gauge move, a Max Move, and an incredible debuffing passive with Lucky Seven 4. However, upon a closer look, SS Leon does reveal some flaws: his low SpA combined with Dynamax Cannon’s low BP for a 4 gauge move means that neither his nuke or his DPS are achieving any new levels of damage, and while his self buffs means he can choose what type of supports he’ll want to bring, completely self buffing is not very realistic due to the time it takes. Eternatus’ main claim to fame is the burst damage it can make between a AoE Sync Nuke followed by a Max Move, dishing out a great amount of damage in a short span of time, but this damage decays considerably after that up to the point where the opponent gets a Sync buff, where his DPS gets to a respectable level again.(Gamepress analysis)
Dynamax Cannon is a 4 gauge move that is leons main attacking move as a special striker. This attack’s power increases 50% when the target has a sync buff, so that’s when. SS Leon is self sufficient with the followingredients self buffs: Dire Hit + Raises the user’s critical-hit rate by 2. X Speed + Raises the user’s Speed by 3, he also has 2 of these. His trainer move eternal power Reduces the user’s sync move countdown by 1. Raises the user’s Sp. Atk by 3 stat ranks. Applies the Supereffective ↑ Next effect to the user. Lowers the user’s Sp. Def by 1 stat rank. His Max Move eterna beam Charges the user’s move gauge by 3 for each allied sync pair on the field.
His passives support his kit. Lucky Seven 4 has a 50% chance of lowering the target’s Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, accuracy, and evasiveness by one stat rank when the user’s attack move against it is successful. Max damage guard applies the Damage Guard Next effect to the user after using its max move. (If hit by an attack while this effect is applied, the attack will inflict no damage on the user, while the damage of some attacks such as sync moves will be halved. The effect is removed after it is activated.) Ramming speed powers up his moves the more his speed is raised.
Overall, SS Leon is a good dragon type special striker that can deal a lot of damage when he is buffed. A good addition to my collection.
