Some time ago I decided there is no sense in having gym defenders, I just put in gyms mons with high CP but bad IV which I would transfer anyway. Or something cute or shiny I caught recently 🙂 After coins are earned – thank you for your input – and I transfer without spending revives and portions.
I realized value of Blissy and Chansy when I was sitting on airport waiting and Groundon Mega egg spawned – there was the most insane battle for Gym control in my life which we (blue team) eventually won (we are to most numerous). That time I understood that I need a good gym defender.

For those who want to get Gold at Gyms in this game Bliss is the best gym defending Mon out there… but one must know with who to paired with am the good CP as well! Also one must know the rules of the gym Feeding berries, Type of mons, Am the amount of points needed to get Gold!
My strategy is Bless, Chans, Snorlax! I that order! If I going to keep the gym for a long period of time (1-2-3 weeks)
As for Chans well she is just anointing as heck! lol I will get the XL for it I got 100% lucky so why not! Lol
You forgot the real reason. Running level 50 Chancey, level 50 Basti, and level 50 Licki in GL. Win all the games because your opponent quits in disgust

I managed a Rank 2 as my highest chansey of the day with plenty of xls. It'll do.
I ended up getting a chansey (non shiny) with 15/15/14, and thought “close enough”! But I only ended up getting 136 XL candies in the end…
I played a combined 11 minutes
My reason for playing was shiny happiny. I didn’t get it 💔
I'm still trying to figure out if you want a hundo type or a PVP type when it comes to the IVs to use as a gym defender. Not sure why PVP IV wouldn't be better
I think Zen Headbutt is on its way to a Incinerate-level buff
