Figured this would be in a direct. The fact that this announcement came out today definitely increases the chances of the direct being a partner direct at best

So it’s basically a Rogue-like with each level being a Single Player Mission. Can’t wait to see insane speedrunners that manage to beat this on the first try.

All of these trailers basically confirm that Nintendo won’t be doing a general direct. It will either be a partner direct, Indie world, or nothing until the next console reveal.

Just a guess, but what if Diddy Kong Racing was remade using the same semi-realistic style of the Donkey Kong Country games, with fur that reacts to the wind and Kremling character models built on stitched together NASA-photo-level-high-res jpegs of lizard scales.

Absolute amazing, as a huge Splatoon fan, I can’t to see how roguelike will fit into it but looks incredible. I can’t wait!

I was hoping to pay 30 bucks for the hubworld of splatoon 2 but i guess they dont want to sell scams twice

This looks good. I haven’t picked up Splatoon 3 yet, but may just get it with the expansion now. Hopefully there’s an endless mode.

I’m still confused about the marketing strategy of saying this mode is designed to be played over and over again. Sure, each floor has multiple challenges to choose from. But the structure still seems linear and there’s a clear scripted narrative going on. And from what we’ve been shown, the missions don’t seem randomly generated so the whole thing is preset. Unless there’s some major incentive for going through the mode three times, I don’t really see myself replaying it after going through it once.

I feel like this could have been it’s own standalone game, such a great idea to make splatoon into a roguelike.
