Hi r/NintendoSwitch! We just released [502’s Arcade](https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/502s-arcade-switch) on Nintendo Switch yesterday!
502’s Arcade is an anthology of arcade games, and each game is based on different genres. We tried to pay homage to games we played as kids but having some modern twists to them as well. For now we’re including 4 games:
* **Ghost Hunter Hana**: A procedural generated top down with a mixed of shooter and melee combat where you have to seal spirits, including some bosses.
* **Potions Panic**: A match-4 puzzle game with an added difficulty of attending orders (think Magical Drop mixed with Overcooked)
* **High Seas Survivor**: A mix of a survivor-like beat’em up with tower defense, where you have to protect your treasure chests from being taken by creatures from the sea.
* **Might Strike Team**: Fast paced single screen shooter where you have to be fast on your reflex to get new weapons, move across levels and beat some bosses.
We feel like it’s a great fit for the platform, as you can play on the go, and just play a few sessions when you have some free time. The game has tons of achievements and daily and weekly leaderboards, so there’s always a challenge waiting for you.
**You can watch our trailer here**: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PvRVlpDTF0&t=4s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PvRVlpDTF0&t=4s)
The AMA team today:
* /riktothepast – **Ricardo** (Programmer, Game Designer and Artist)
* /foobraco – **Bryan** (Programmer, Producer)
Unfortunately the rest of the team couldn’t make it today but we’ll try to answer everything the best that we can!
So feel free to ask us anything about the game, our team, how did we ended up making games or anything else you wanna know.
Also, we’re giving giving away **5 Switch codes** to random users that ask questions that we end up answering up to 3pm PST! After that, we’ll cut off the raffle and end the AMA officially (but probably keep answering questions casually).

Really enjoying this game so far! I noticed that you said “for now” there are four games. Are there plans to add more in an update later?
Why is the game called 502’s arcade? Is 502 special?
How did you come up with the idea for High Seas Survivor? I really liked that one
You included 4 games. Did you have a longer list of games or concepts? If so, how did you decide to only 4?
If there are more, do you have a plan to a DLC or a sequel?
Congratulations on releasing your game!
Did you have anything fancy for a celebration dinner?
I’m digging the chiptunes from the trailer – did you have any inspirations for the music?
Hello, I’m really liking all the games currently in the collection, especially Hana and the one with the pirate. I noticed there is a claw machine on the back of the options panel, is that going to become usable in the future?
Congratulations on the release of the game, just went and bought it on steam to support small indie companies like you guys. Seriously people underestimate how hard it it is to stick to something and finish it. I have a few questions, how long did the development take since the initial idea? How many people worked on the game? Was there a time the team said “maybe we should change careers lol”? Awesome work guys.
Congrats on a successful launch!
Is there a particular style of game that most of the team is a fan of? Are you more interested in creating a variety of game types for its own sake, or just an assortment of games that are more focused on fun factor over diversity?
I love the idea of lots of mini games compiled into a bigger game, as I think the creator of Spelunky is working on something similar.
First your game looks great! Second what was the biggest hardship making this game if any?
This looks like so much fun! Which game is your favorite?
Awesome job guys, I am very proud of all of you. I feel that the dedication, care and love that you have put into this project can be seen throughout the game.
My question is, do you plan to create another game in the future (not 502’s arcade update)?
502 studios are y’all in KY? That’s my phone area code!
Looks pretty cool. Many of these look like they’d be perfect for couch coop. Any thoughts to adding multiplayer?
Are there any other genre combinations you wanted to try to combine, or are there any you tried that didn’t quite work out?
This looks awesome, congrats. Which game was the most complicated to develop (art, mechanics, etc.)?
(I’m from Guatemala too and I feel very proud of all of you :’D )
I read it’s the first game in your country to be released on new gen? If so, congratulations! What advice would you give young aspiring devs in your country? And, is this your first game? Very impressive if so. Thanks in advance!
I am always and forever a sucker for match # puzzlers. I really dig how the blocks/circles clear from the bottom up. Such a simple departure from convention that makes it feel fresh.
Thanks for releasing this as an anthology. That truly makes it more bang for the buck. Congrats!
If you could develop any Nintendo IP into a game, which one would you choose? What kind of game would you make?
Congratulations!
What were some of your biggest inspirations? And I saw you’re from Guatemala – what are some of your favorite games from Guatemalan developers? (Switch or otherwise)
Would like to try it out this weekend
Looks interesting, looking forward to trying potions panic.
My question is: what led you to making one game with four games inside rather than releasing four separate games?
So cool to see indie games thrive on the switch, looking forward to checking it out tonight.
