dont buy them just yet, awful reviews on steam
No physical, no buy. I’m not usually that hard against digital but the download is over 25 gb and that’s just ridiculous.
Don’t buy it its unfinished and full of bugs and server issues
My only issue is the lack of an inverted control option. Which is crazy because I know for certain it was in the originals.
Aren’t the cutscenes also missing in the second game?
Cut scenes missing and 30fps? Even for a switch game that’s crazy.
And I’m gonna wait this one out.

Wait a bit. Its having a shit launch. For Sony players its not even updating right with multiple different version with variance missing things depending on what random version it makes you download.
Also 10,000 people tried to play it and they enough server space for less than 200 people.
How the fuck they didn’t see a bigger turn out than that is ridiculous but this is Aspyr, the team that lied about putting the restored content patch into kotor 2 on Switch to boost sales then cancelled it.
Before you buy this you should be aware:
1. Download size is ridiculously big. Game file size is listed as 33.7gb.
2. People are listing a deluge of complaints. Can’t invert vehicle controls, cutscenes are missing in BF2, the servers for Steam users are very lackluster.
Just be careful with this one y’all.
RIP to those who still can’t learn their lesson on not preordering a game.

There’s not even an option to invert the controller Y axis. It’s a bug-ridden mess, wait for the patches and the sales.
$35 and 33.7gb for a 20 year old PS2 game that can only handle a few hundred players playing online at a time.

You guys complaining about no physical, even if this was physical on Switch, they wouldn’t spend money on the bigger carts so it would be mostly a download anyways. Kind of a waste to even release that physically.
How is it 33GB? It must be one of the biggest games on Switch.
Not remotely surprised that Aspyr would fumble the bag on this and not sure why anyone else is either.

Still playing my original Xbox copies. I figured it would be buggy on release. I almost never buy a game on release, though I did make an exception for Potions: A Curious Tale on Steam recently.
I played this for a bit this morning, as someone that has actively kept playing 1 and 2 on Xbox consoles throughout the years through backwards compatibility at least a few times each year I can say that so far this classic collection is an inferior version
The lack of options THAT WERE PRESENT IN THE ORIGINALS is astounding
These are games from 2004 and 2005 and they take so long to launch and load, these loading times are honestly ridiculous. I think these loaded faster on my 360 in comparison.
Tons of quality of life features and options just not present or borked
Aspyr’s kotor 2 and Jedi outcast ports were middling, lacking helpful context sensitive prompts that were in the GameCube and Xbox versions just gone from the ps4 and switch ports
Not to mention the promised restored content mod that Aspyr just quietly walked back
This is the studio they had originally chosen to remake kotor btw
Given how much they’re charging for these I’d say wait unless you’re desperate to replay them
Because given Aspyr’s recent history, issues have no guarantee of being patched or fixed
Offline, the game plays fine and has a few control quirks and cutscene issues (especially missing ones from the Rise of the Empire). I got this to play mostly offline and occasionally play online with friends to do a bot stomp. But for those who primarily want to play online, it’s a definite wait til they fix it.
I bought at midnight so didn’t see the issues before hand. My honest impressions for Switch (all played on handheld OLED). The original game looks better imo, the colours look nice on the OLED it’s cool they brought the first person/cockpit view over for vehicles from the PC version, and changing perspective is only pressing L3. Online I had some fun with this one and got into games with about 10 and then filled with AI which did an okay job. Didn’t play any single player apart from instant action which worked well. Onlt issue I had with the online was 100 spawns per team needs to be boosted although it could just be the server
BF2 has more issues. I did play some online and it was good enough but had some audio problems and for some reason the whole game looks worse. Text looks low res, some graphical things look weird. It’s not because of the OLED either which sometimes makes certain games look worse (eg Witcher), I tested it and it still had issues.
So overall, idk if you’re desperate buy it. I’m going to keep playing it because it really fun to pick up and play for like 30 mins. Not excusing any of the bullshit though, but if you never played the PC (I didn’t) version then this feels kinda cool with all the new features and way larger battles.
I think I’ll just dust off the PS2.
Is a physical copy available?
I shouldn’t have pre-ordered. The reviews yesterday seemed really positive (Switch-Up in particular). However, after reading the all of these user experiences, I immediately chatted with a Nintendo rep. It seems like my first ever Switch refund is about to go through. Shame really… I wanted to enjoy these games.
Laziest ports I’ve ever seen. Fuck Aspyr.
