Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.

This week is open master league and spring cup. Spring Cup is a 1500CP league with only water, fairy, and grass type pokemon.

This is the second week in a row it is on. Here are the top performing pokemon for the cup

  1. I feel as though Pelipper has been kind of overlooked, it’s been an amazing safe swap for me and great coverage for Lanturn and Abomasnow

  2. I definitely agree with Mawile. I love it as one of my favorite steel types and in the right matchup it puts in work. But I do get frustrated when I face a pelipper, tentacruel, even a poliwrath and I can't get to a play rough fast enough. I'll definitely take your suggestion and try polfrog to help me need to crush ferrothorns. With shield advantage and Dynamic Punch Ferro can still be dealt with

  3. I think Lanturn is underrated because the things that counter it tend to take a while to charge and to be glassy. You don't get one-shot by an energy ball or leaf blade, yet a thunder will really hurt a Roserade. Ferrothorn is the only thing I really dread with Lanturn.

  4. I've been enjoying leading with Hisuian Electrode. Even in bad matchups I can always get to a quick wild charge before switching out, which either grabs a shield or almost one-shots pretty much everything. It's also an amazing answer to lanturn, pelipper, and empoleon in particular. It pairs really well with golisopod, as long as your third option can deal with weezing and mawile

  5. Trev, Lant, Dew has been a really consistent team for me, Dew feels like one of the best safe swaps in this meta. If they have a counter for it, I usually come out with either shield advantage or a double debuff where I can farm up with Trev. Lanturn as the closer

  6. It's been interesting and fun using Cradily lead with Lanturn and Slurpuff in the back. Slurpuff is interesting with 2 shields I ran fairy wind fast move with energy ball and flamethrower.

  7. If you face Empoleon with Golisopod, you can win the 2s going straight X-Scissor and farm down when they reach a 3rd Drill Peck

  8. Lant Abom Ferro RPS team doing well so far…very hard wins and very hard losses as well, but decent coverage for an ABB team

  9. I am over the limited meta cups like this, there is frequently a pokemon that a lot of people don't have with an exclusive move being very dominant, this cups has been weather ball Roserade for me as I missed my chance to get one and im not wasting an ETM on a limited cup pokemon.
I'll be in master league this week.

  10. I only managed to play 3 days last week but went 73-2 with feraligator, togetic and rosellia. Rose perfect IVs others near top end and pvpoke movesets/

  11. My daughter is playing Trevenant ( lead) Tentacruel, Am Dewgong she is having fun! 4-1 or 5-0 for the most part! Rose is not so much strong if her team loses the shilds early! From what I have notice! As for me 3-2 and 4-1 lol been playing different teams in ultra! But since I don’t play Master’s I am going to come back to this! Oh Boy! Will see how I’ll do!

  12. You need to prepare before doing videos. It's like you think your viewers can't read and scroll through pvpoke, which is essentially all you do. Waste of time.

  13. I don’t know why Brutal Swing is so recommended with GWeezing. Yes, it’s quick to get to if baiting is your plan, but truthfully, for just a hair more energy, I (and others I’ve faced) have found WAY more play with Sludge. Usually it wouldn’t be great, but it gets STAB and hits hard against Grass, any Fairy not named Mawile or Weezing, and neutral against Dewgong et al. Pvpoke stats are one thing, but SludgeWeezing works much better for me, especially if you double charge it and then bail. Then you’ve got double barrel Sludge or Overheat ready when it comes back out.

  14. I’ve had some decent play with Sunshine Cherrim, too, mostly because I don’t have a Roserade built up with the exclusive Weather Ball, but Cherrim gets it in it’s usually move carousel. The down side: only grass Fast attacks. So my play has been Razor Leaf Fast with Weather Ball Fire. The logic is this: if I’m against Water, I don’t care about launching WB because I’m farming down with Razor anyway. If I’m against Grass, I can usually get to two Weather Balls before going down, even if I’m using Razor Leaf (I may need to devote a Shield though). And the second Charged is useless because you will never get to it with Razor, so don’t bother. Roserade is inherently better with a Poison sub typing, Poison Fast option, and a viable secondary Grass charged, but if you simply cannot afford a Roserade, you can get that sweet Weather Ball via Cherrim.

  15. High five 🙌 I’ve been running Clefable lead with Tentacruel and Ferrothorn and it rocks.
I would recommend keeping thunder on ferro as well, makes closing match with pelliper or Jellicent winnable.
