April is always such an easy skip. The units are nothing special and will already be on a select scout at anniversary.
I called Volo and gible for lodge. They specifically use the Pokémon from pre betrayal. Ones he likely used to seem more unassuming
If there’s anything I love, it’s characters with very weird kits.
If nothing else, getting Volo means I can run double Togepi with spring Burgh which isn’t great, but it is funny. I just like Metronome kits.

Volo just sounds so fun! Random, but fun! And those lodge interactions are going to be hilarious! This is totally favs over meta here, but he is still a very good unit.
Volo's kit is weird because he sucks at his job. He is a terrible merchant and we all know it. Cant wait to pull for him!

Jacq looks really fun imo I imagine he would be kinda nutty with NC Rosa with all of her random team buffing and providing him crit buffs aswell but I would have to see how it works in practice.
I love all four new pairs but im sk enraged over the 19k gems for the month. Its a massive middle finger to us players and i think we need to all send respectful feedback to dena complaining about their cheapness. Ill atop complaining about this gemcount if they do a rally or 3k gem gift
Since Metronome is a normal move, do all its possible permutations turn into fairy type due to his passive? Also, I agree Volo would have been stronger as a pure support, but at least this way he can be used as a semi support in Battle Rally stages where actual Supports don’t give a bonus but Field units do.
Volo’s kit does feel more support oriented than damage oriented
If they wanted to go all in on damage then
1. Have Masterful Metronome’s additional effects be offensive rather than defensive (PMUN, SMUN, Super Effective up next)
2. Have Masterful Metronome deal physical or special damage depending on which type of damage will deal more damage (I.E. Hyper Beam against Chansey will cause the Hyper Beam to deal Physical damage)
3. Better damage multipliers (such as increase damage if opponent has a status effect or infliction)
Also Jacq’s Stored Power move that removes all the buffs you gave him ☠️
Yeah… gonna be saving gems on these. I'll probably throw some dailies at them just to add them to the collection but if I don't get them I won't cry. Jacq seems like he's got potential but if I did get lucky and 4/5 SS Steven on his rerun I might care more.
Volo is my most anticipated character and I’ll go all out for him!
His kit is also really good, and I really like the supportive tools he got:
-PMUN and SMUN stacks spam similar to NC Rosa
-Defensive Circle that gives universal damage reduction up to 25%, (and even if he’s the only Sinnoh unit it still gives 15%, which is a lot) plus a damage buff for the team up to 20%
-an extra 30% damage increase for Sync moves thanks to his passive
-a lot of debuffs that can be single target or AoE, like guaranteed Attack and Special Attack debuffs (which help him mitigate damage even more btw), a random debuff from his passive, another random debuff from his exclusive lucky skill, and guaranteed defense and/or special defense debuff at 5/5.
In all of this, the fact that he can set Fairy Zone is probably his weakest asset, since he can only set it once outside of his Sync move and he doesn’t have zone extension in his passives or Grid.
Also, I’m incredibly annoyed by the fact that DeNA gave him a Tech EX Role in an attempt to double down in his DPS stuff (which is not that amazing to begin with) instead of the much better Support EX Role. I’ll give him the EX Role regardless because he is my favourite and I don’t mind those extra 20 points in Defence and Special Defence, but it really bothers me that he doesn’t have a Support EX Role, it would have been useful in the Rally too!
In any case, I can’t wait for Friday to arrive, I wish everybody good luck on their pulls!
