  1. I’m one of the 500,000. Truly one of the best games this year for sure. Go download the demo. It’s the first 7 1/2 hours of the game and the save file transfers to the full game if you buy it.

Incredibly good game. I downloaded the demo with the intention of trying it out now to put it on the list to buy some day it went on sale in the future and I’ve never bought a game so quickly following the demo ending. I was HOOKED and I still am.

Which is ridiculously small for an atlus game.

If only the story and character writing were at least decent, it would a perfect game for a hall of fame.  User interface is well designed and easy to navigate, unit diversity exists in a balanced metagame way more elegant than a vulgar rockpaperscizor, building and brainstorm is excellent while allowing tactic reposition/weapon/ai switch in the heat of battle, foes’ strategies are strong and easy to understand, the game allows us a choice of death/life over minor characters, battles can be completed in any order, we can change look or growths of units, everytime a unit attacks, moves or blocks it’s beautiful.

Definitely going to pick this up on sale some day. Just not in the budget at the moment. But a definite buy!

Honestly am lowkey upset that it took almost 30 years for there to be a proper spiritual successor to Final Fantasy Tactics, but glad it’s finally here

So glad to hear this as one of those 500k. Outside of Fire Emblem, SRPGs don’t tend to do so well so this is great news. Here’s hoping it reaches a million so they can make a sequel.

I tried the demo. The battles are so boring, I just watch them happen instead of choosing my attacks or magic? Am I missing something?

  8. Victor_Wembanyama1

They would sell better if they shipped more lol

  9. SatyrAngel

Give it time, some people are still playing the demo 🤣

  10. nonessential-npc

Definitely earned it, I haven’t been this addicted to a game since BW2.

Im really happy for these guys. Do we know what their goal or break even point was?

Is this including digital downloads, or is it based on physical sales?

I find that, much of the time, they just seem to report physical units sold without taking the digital storefronts into consideration. I feel like it might be higher than 500k given there was a good deal of hype surrounding the game and they did a good job marketing it imho.

Also I’ve yet to finish this game, but it is really good! I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit so far.

To be honest I buy a lot of new release games just by looking at titles and adding them to my collection. I will admit I thought this was made by the Overlord games creator and then I saw the game when I got it and thought it was a jrpg and have not opened it. Purely don’t have a lot of time to invest into a jrpg when I can game like an hr a night.

I bought the special edition. Preordered it back in December. I can’t bring myself to open it though x.x So I only have the demo for now.

Anyone else have similar issues with collectors stuff?

I wanna pick up this game. It looks gorgeous. But I know I’d only play it for a couple hours. Every SRPG I’ve played has gone over my head too much and I just couldn’t get into it. Super glad this one is getting lots of love.

I am enjoying playing this game.

Ogre Battle has always been one of my favorite games. It’s been 20+ years but finally someone made a game that I consider as good as Ogre Battle. This game feels like it could have been an Ogre Battle game.

I hope this makes Square Enix bring back Ogre Battle.

I hope this game sells so well that Vanillaware decides to make a sequel. They did a really good job on this game and it’s very polished.

If Vanillaware doesn’t I hope this game inspires another dev to do their take on this sub genre. I’m sure I’d eventually get tired if everyone started copying it, but for now I’d love to see one or two more games like this.

We have games like Fire Emblem and games like Tactics Ogre/FFT. I hope this game forms its a new active branch of SRPG games.
