If you would like more alternative teams that use more limited sync pairs, I will be posting my 30 streak clear within a week and will link it here once it’s up.
While technically this is a F2P guide, newer players with less resources and less invested units will have a challenge building their streak.
Here are the restrictions I imposed on myself when building these teams
– All general pool 3* to 4* sync pairs are allowed, with the assumption that they are at least 3/5
– If sync pairs that are obtainable through the story are used, it is taken into consideration as to whether or not the player may have them at 3/5 and above (Barry for instance is more reasonable to assume he’s at 3/5 amongst players versus Rosa and Acerola)
– Free legendary units and their expansions are allowed, although I have listed alternative strategies and sync grids to use these units in the pinned comment if you haven’t obtained it’s EX and sync grid expansion yet
– BP units are allowed, however I excluded Master BP pairs as they’re harder to obtain and fully invest into
– Event units are exuded this time around
– Lodge units are allowed, however the Lodge units that are permitted are ones that can be obtained with F2P sync pairs the game provides (for instance, while Lodge Elesa is free like Lodge Blue, hers is locked behind unlocking the unit via general scout pull so she is disqualified from this list)
– Eggmons are allowed, though I suggest swapping them out for a better sync pair that fulfills the same role.
– All sync pairs in these teams are gridded while once again taking into consideration how many copies a F2P player may have then.
– EX F2P sync pairs are to have their EXs and boosts optional and will not make or break a team if they’re are or are not. From personal experience, I recommend upgrading your 3* units to 4* at a minimum before taking on gauntlet.
If you happen to have a better sync pair on hand, feel free to swap out another sync pair for it. This video is moreso a guide to show how you can ball on a budget to get the first time rewards and to build a streak to grind out cookies.
In a nutshell, here are the general strategies of each one of the legendaries featured in the guantlet:
Registeel – Drop defense, nuke and sustain yourself
Tornadus – Paralyze after Rain Dance to avoid Poison and then snipe.
Tapu Bulu – Nuke and sustain
I’ll be going into much more depth of each of the teams and the strategy I employ with each of them as well as sync grids in the pinned comment.

That's one fine-looking Regirock.
Why doesn't mine look like that?!
Better late than never.
Here are the sync grids and strategies for every team showcased in this video.
00:00 – Registeel 1

Double EXs may be overkill, especially since Hop can self heal, but I'd alternate syncing with Event Bugsy and Brawley in case Hop's Potion MPR fails.
03:28 – Tornadus 1

I suggest just syncing with Lt. Surge for this battle so you're able to get in all the heals you can get and use BP Sophocles for DPS.

EZ win for Blue. Use Tech Eggmon Persian so Skyla can survive a Grassy Terrain boosted Wooden Hammer on the third bar.
