Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.

This week is open ultra league and jungle cup. Jungle Cup is a 1500cp league with limited typings. Be sure to check out my top jungle cup teams video

Highest ELO of season.

  1. In your matrix you have the 2 Shadow Vic and then a non Shadow with a Sludge Bomb moveset. For completeness a Shadow Sludge needs to be added to show its not only moveset dependent, but also shadow vs non shadow dependent. The sludge bomb shadow vs non shadow is 6 extra wins for non shadow and 3 extra losses.

Also your other point towards the end of the video – grass types and coverage. In the current meta there are non grass with grass coverage like Lickitung and Cresselia – and their grass coverage and bulk is actually what makes them stand out. Even Shadow Gallade with Leaf Blade outranks the best grass types in great league with grass coverage. Grass needs a buff.

  2. Whims is a pokemon I've been running. Fairy Wind / Seed Bomb, Moonblast. Seed Bomb for waters, Moonblast for Dark/Dragons. Skarm walls it with fast move pressure.

  3. I see this as a big problem for many players that keep looking for teams to used am they can not get anywhere!

  4. I'm definitely just gonna be out catching for the stardust. The whole meme of this community day is pretty funny… bellsprout's pokedex is #69 and the comm day is on 4/20 and is getting "magical leaf"

  5. Niantic is not only run by morons, they employ children, too. Pokémon #69 is getting “magical leaf” on 4-20. Pathetic.

  6. The 69th pokemon in the pokedex is having a community day on 4/20 and it's learning the move *checks notes* "magical leaf" when it evolves

    Ok, Niantic

  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what you said and what I saw means it losses flexibility. Harder losses, less strong wins, worse with shield disadvantage, except for in 2v1 shields, worse in all other scenarios.
Straight up buff for ultra league though.

  8. I feel like magical leaf+ acid spray makes it a sim hero cause pvpoke will have the opponent shielding acid spray every time

  9. I don't think it's gonna be relevant in GL. With magical leaf is just "bad venusaur". If it'd got vine whip or poison jab it would've been more interesting.
Also, some simulations were skipped, for example RL shadow vic can beat gligar if you invest two shields (you only care about alignment in grasshole anyway)

  10. Would be nice if they end up coding it to increase the shiny rate on the shadow sprout with the decoy grunts.

  11. Fucking hell i didnt have the tms to remove frus on any of them because I’m not a shadow Vic kind of guy but i would like to try it out with magical leaf so it’s not as toxic

  12. I’ve been using the current shadow Vic in the jungle cup as an opener… w- lanturn and Tentacruel…. It’s been doing pretty well around the 2150 Elo can be a challenge above that… talonflame openers are painful… because there’s literally no way you can’t straight switch, then the team doesn’t really have a legit safe swap.
May pay to switch Tentacruel for a Vigroth or something. However I do like the concept of the RL version better… it’s all well and good having more move flexibility… but when you’re as glassy as Victreebell… you’re using shields just to stay in the neutral fights to get to charged moves.
