For this new update, I thought it was ok! The only thing I didn’t like was the faces because they look questionable. But your best bet for the faces is to pick the second option because it looks the most normal and the white skin is way to bright.
Why did they use N64 graphics?
Y’all are literally overreacting. There is a way to “change” to a male. If you go to ‘appearance’, then go to ‘faces’, and choose the second one it kind of looks like a male face. And in general, I thought this wasn’t a bad update because they are representing different body types and there are more customization options. The only bad things in my opinion were that the heads are to round and the skin color is so bright and in your face. If Niantic fixed these two things, the update would be a whole lot better.

Ok but fr, there are no male or female groups now, its just it. A flat ass and a weird looking chunky body. The faces are looking terrible. And now you always have the male and female outfits together and thats just too much to scroll. Hair and the color changes feature are the only things that are pretty nice. But the rest… Im not looking so bad in the rl. I want my curves back for gods sake😢.
I like the options for the new avatars, but I think they need to be finessed. I added a bit of weight to mine (truth in advertising) and now, because instead of just making the body chubbier, they also made it bigger, my head looks teeny tiny. I really didn't need that. Just a little tweaking would fix it.

Hairstyle, colors and skin tones are a nice touch. The avatar looks much younger now and a little tomboyish lol

Man, the Japanese should intervene here. I can't choose between male or female anymore (because biology does not exist, don't you know), but I can pick a vaguely human avatar that is both ugly and fat. We have to make games ugly and depressing! Who needs pretty larger than life characters?

This isn't an attempt to bring back old players. This is an attempt to bring in more "inclusivity" players, and an attempt to see how much of their current player base they can lose and turn away the old player bases from ever looking at the game again. Thats what this update is.
What I want from the kanto event is the avatars to go back. Even with "inclusivity" thoughts at play, they couldve just removed the male and female symbol and those people couldve lived and dealt with what every other player lived and dealt with for 8 YEARS!!! Ive been wanting an editor since launch hated i couldn't change my hair etc. and after me complaining and wanting it nothing. But a minority group whines and complains about something that the game already had for them, (if were all forced to be the same then theres no exclusivity) simple logic and true at that really. But whines and complains so hard the devs decide to change to this ugly mess? Take the avatars back or give us better options. I can see what editor niantic can make MHN isnt bad in all honesty… Hoping they make a change or they lost multiple sources of income and will soon see their money loss.

Not gonna lie but this update was pretty dogshit. My avatar face looks weird and since I wear a snorlax onesie, the proportions look so awkward. I seriously hope they revert this.
