They should honestly just have a setting so people who like the old version can use it

BOOOOO THIS IS WORSE THAN THE REMOTE RAID PASS NERFS!
In the future Pokemon Go if you see a dark Pokestop which it already occupied or conquered by Go grunts tap on it you will see a Kecleon invisible silhouette tap on invisible silhouette then jump down. Tap X for return to map a Kecleon already on the map. Tap on Kecleon it will show Shadow Kecleon on the catching screen.
This is how shadow Kecleon going to debut in Pokemon Go.
So players have 2 ( Grunt and Shadow Kecleon) in 1 (Pokestop).
Then players can proceed dueling with Go grunts.

Saying this in the most constructive & kind way possible. Please revert this update Niantic & use the original character as the base model to expand upon with new hair & body customizations.
