They look horribly unnatural. So there seems to be a protest going on. Many trainers on my friend list are covering their faces with helmets, masks or big hats. I decided to join in the protest. For my avatar, I put on a hospital mask with a hat that covers my eyes. If you dislike your avatar's face, join the fun and cover your face 🙂
The new update has a lot of potential to start being good in the future when they fix it up and do updates on it at the moment it looks so bad

Dude its the faces and the bone structures of the avatars. I was in game design college. Trust me. Thats all it is. Such small designs flaws can throw off the entire thing and they make way too much money to release such poor work.

My advice have your avatar wear a mask and/or some form of eyewear to hide it and protest it. It’s what I have done as right now my avatar is wearing the white mask and Grand Oak glasses.
Give me back my old avatar its nostalgic and there was nothing wrong with it. This is gonna give me nightmares, gonna cover my face and wear big clothes so i don't see even the slightest bit of my avatar.

Ive been playing since launch, nearly 8 years and this just disappoints me man 😔
I'm all on board for making games more inclusive, but that doesn't equal taking away options. The original female avatar body was much closer to my actual form than the current one featuring giant man hands, no discernible waist, ape torso, flat butt/hips, massive calves and hunched shoulders. There's nothing inclusive about eliminating options for female players with classically feminine bodies! I see most of the people who think the changes are okay are all male-presenting bc their avatars were not changed as drastically. I have no doubt Niantic's dev team is an absolute sausage fest too; not sure any of them understand the concept of basic female anatomy.
Another aspect that I'm not sure anyone has touched on: many of us spent coins to curate "cute" outfits for our avatars, based on the original model. Those outfits now look like absolute rumpled trash on the new models. Ill-fitted, drooping crotches, flat textures, you name it. These changes were poorly thought out, poorly executed, and should never have passed QA (does Niantic even have QA?) in the first place.
You’re being way too nice. The Color and textures of the hair are worse than the original and doesn’t even fit the head right. The worst part is the super long torso and baggy crotch look on all outfits. Women have waits and hips and we want them back dammit!
They should keep the hairstyles but get rid of the face and bring the old one back

I am pleased and surprised that it is not so hard to cut the cord. I quit Pokemon Go yesterday over this abomination. Today was pretty great. Tell Niantic what you think. Quit the game. I should have done it after the remote raid fiasco. But it isn’t too late. Hit Niantic where it hurts. Gender destruction isn’t benign. There is an agenda here. We are given another peek behind the Niantic mask. Quit.
I hate it! The hairstyles are a mess, there’s a literal bald spot on the long down hair options. My girl stands like a monkey??? I used to stand so cute. It just feels like a beta test 🙄
