  1. Honestly, Ash's loss to Harrison was the worst one. We were deprived of a good ending because they needed to sell the next generation of Pokemon.

  2. Watch the episode again Ash was attacked by team rocket and had to tire all his Pokemon just to get back in time to battle Ritchie. His mon were half dead basically and his only fresh Mon was Charizard who wasn't listening to him. He honestly did really good with a bunch of fatigued and injured pokemon.

  3. Ash’s pikachu has beaten a regice, a latios, and tapu koko. But, it couldn’t beat a lucario, a grapploct, a zoroark, and many other non-legendary Pokemon. Also, his charizard and sceptile have beaten, an articuno and a darkrai.

  4. "Ash caught this L strictly because he was an inexperienced trainer."

I'm sorry, what? Ash lost to Richie while fighting with an already exhausted Pokemon team because of a fight with Team Rocket that he barely even made it to the match after. He wouldn't have needed to rely on Charizard if his other Pokemon weren't already in the yellow.

That's like a boxer getting hit by a crowbar before a match and then you blaming their loss on them being inexperienced.

  5. The indigo League committee should’ve rescheduled Ash VS Richy for later time.. it’s obvious ash came into the stadium on a balloon/bike thing and his team was worned out.. but yet they still let the battle go on.. also didn’t like they consider unable to battle due to sleep powder 😭

  6. Dont care what people say they cheated greninja a water type loosing to a fire type move. And lets not forget it was a giga water shuriken and charizard still live hell na

  7. You know what’s funny. In some of the games legendaries are banned in certain stuff. I guess the battle against Tobias is smth different 💀

  8. İn kalos charizard mega tanked:
    1.Boosted thundershock from pikachu
    2. Slash or cut idk name from
    greninja ash
3.A NORMAL AND HUGE WATER SHURIKEN
    greninja ash

  9. Losing to Cameron was absolutely silly. First of all..why not bring krookodile. HE WAS UR STRONGEST UNOVA MON. Dude was relying on boldore, fucking oshawatt, pignite (who wasn’t bad) unfezant (lol) snivy and his obvious goat, pikachu. Just a very odd team of mons, and then riolu evolving into lucario..man come on. The anime producers couldn’t cut mans a break until alola

  10. This fool puts everything X and Y above Black and White… he clearly knows not what a good generation is

  11. Honestly if I had lost in a regular battle that would have been fine, but if I had lost just because my Charizard is an a-hole I would be pissed.

  12. The Indigo was because of a lot more than his inexperience. Most of his team was exhausted because of Team Rocket or flying him back to the stadium. And Charizard being the worst Pokemon he ever owned. He was basically forced to fight with 2 Pokemon.

  13. My ranking:
    1. Harrison – Yeah Ash's league loss to Harrison I think everyone can agree is the least controversial. Harrison had a stacked team, multiple bases covered, and also had Hoenn mons like Blaziken and Kecleon. Fair game all things considered. Makes sense why Ash lost since he was facing unfamiliar Pokemon.

    2. Tyson – Pretty much only controversy is Pikachu vs Meowth, and even that was just "main character syndrome" successfully trumps the actual main character. Pretty much the rest of the battle is okay.

    3. Tobias – Despite the battle being a stomp and one of the more controversial battles (though in all honesty, any of the losses aside from Harrison have varying degrees of controvery), this fight did a much better job of highlighting Ash's skills as a trainer. He brought in a mixed team of aces and "mehs" and still managed to knock out 2 of Tobias' 6 mons, meanwhile the rest of Sinnoh couldn't even take out 1. That, in my opinion is actually worthy of note. Even the finalist after Ash couldn't knock out 1 of Tobias' mons, so that should tell you that Ash was more than likely the 2nd strongest trainer there even though he only made top 4. Plus, the battle wasn't even that bad aside from the beatings that Swellow and Torkoal got.

    4. Cameron – As I said, although this matchup makes 4th, it's still mighty controversial, and most consider it the worst, considering Ash had every means open to actually win, and really the only reason he lost is practically the same as his Tyson loss: main character syndrome actually working against the main character, but even worse since Lucario manages to sweep the last half of Ash's team. And of course, Cameron only beats Ash with 5 pokemon.

    5. Alain – The reason for this loss coming as the worst 2 really just comes from the fact that when you consider how rushed the Kalos League was, how forced Alain's background is within the League, the amount of BS within the fight itself (looking at you Bisharp), and the fact that this fight was supposed to hype and even hint at a major victory for Ash, it really makes you think that the writers were trolling us the whole time. At least with the Cameron loss, it comes at a time where most people agreed Ash was probably at his worst aside from the Kanto League where most of his badges were either stupid easy to get or were given out of pity. The Kalos League was where Ash was at a high point aside from Sinnoh and somehow he couldn't clutch.

    6. Ritchie – However, as bad as the Cameron and Alain losses were to me, the Ritchie loss is the worst. Unlike Cameron or Alain, I do like Ritchie, but his battle style is point for point the same as Ash's by this point. So a battle between these two should've been close. The big problems are a) this wasn't a 6v6, it was a 3v3, b) their battle only lasts about 5 minutes, c) the other 15 minutes which should've been about the battle was about Ash being late because of Team Racket (yes I say Racket because that's all they were in this episode). Because of them, Ash has to battle with tired out pokemon or pokemon he wouldn't use to gain an advantage. Outside factors causing this battle to occur the way it did killed this battle before they even started the clock.
What makes the Ritchie loss even worse is that if any Gym Leader had to go through what Ash had to go through, but then had to deal with multiple challenges, they'd usually say, "Let my Pokemon get some rest and come back tomorrow." Does Ash get that option, even though he had no choice in what happened before his match? Heck no! He has to be forced to do the match anyway otherwise he gets forced into a disqualification! Total bullcrap on the writers part. At least I can watch the other matchups and still get some enjoyment (Pikachu and Pignite sweep the front half of Cameron's team, Pikachu cleaning house against Alain as well as Hawlucha vs Weavile, and Pikachu and Sceptile's performance against Latios and Darkrai respectively). I don't have anything to look forward to in Ritchie's fight, which is what makes it genuinely aggravating.

  14. If ash went to hoenn first before johto he would have won the johto league cuz the only reason he lost is he didnt know what the hoenn pokemons are

  15. Why was Tobias using Mythical Pokemon in the first place? Never saw much, so did Ash have a death wish or something if he did invite Tobias?
