This post talks about issues of this game, in my opinion, and many others’ opinions. All the images added are not mine, and the user’s names are included on the images for original credit. This a message to Niantic, Pokémon Company, and Nintendo as a community. Hopefully, we can come together and do something, even if it starts with this post. Have a great day, and enjoy this post <3
These are big and small things. Anytime something happens, there are AR glitches, Avatar Glitches, Frame Drops, “Location not found” bugs, pokemon overlaying in different screens, and probably a lot more I’m unaware of.
I miss the avatars like everyone else, but I think this is more of a “broken game gets new stuff” instead of a “let’s do our best at making this fun game fun!” Niantic and The Pokémon Company can do much more with this game.
I’m talking about Events where we can get cosmetic Pokemon like scarfed Zarude. Spikey Ear Pichu, more nice/great/excellent throw events for more community interaction, and more aware of the campfire app to communicate and Come together as a community easier (like putting a special mission to use campfire); I miss when this game felt more of a “LET’S GO OUTSIDE AND HAVE FUN TOGETHER!” Instead, you can go outside if you want, but if you want the most out of everything, you must pay for items and go to your local downtown area if you even have one.
Some people physically can’t go outside a lot either, so making going outside more rewarding can be better for people’s health and the health of this game. In 2020, I almost lost my leg; thankfully, it was more accessible to play Pokémon GO 2020 indoors. I had to relearn how to walk so I wouldn’t be able to get many rewards, items, coins, etc. I’m just now walking about 5km a day, and it’s 2024; I would’ve liked a more friendly game encouraging to walk more by rewarding players but more accessible to play while not losing its charm/actual rewarding feeling.
How can this be fixed? Here’s my idea of a solution.
1. Make a daily incense mission
2. Add more in-game events
3. Add more community events
4. Either combine Pokémon GO and Campfire or make players more aware of Campfire through exposure, missions, or the news tab once a month.
5. Increase your daily coins from a gym to 100. This way players, disabled and not handicapped players can enjoy the game more by having more accessible access to items to play with others as a community more accessible.
6. More rewarding for walking by adding a walking mission (1km, 3km, 5km, 10km) like a daily/weekly/event particular research!
7. A DIFFERENT way to fix avatars, make more poses and proportion changes, so players can have their avatar look the way they want, either like the older avatars or a newer version!
8. Add back the old AR feature with added grass programmed to be under the Pokemon or tall grass behind the Pokemon (this isn’t the best solution, but it is more of an idea in the works because I don’t know a lot about AR. I know it looks funny.)
9. Community polls ingame!!! I want to vote for the community Day Pokémon like we did years ago. I want to have a voice, and so do many people in the community.
10. This may be a hot take, BUT IF MOST/ALL OF THESE ARE IMPLEMENTED, increase the count and prices of pokecoins. I might be really into this, but if the game becomes more accessible, Niantic could lose money, and we could lose a part of this game. Increasing prices by 25% and coin amounts by 10% is an idea I had.
10 (part 2). Lessening the price of specific research like the Zarude one that recently passed and a donate button to where you can receive items. More people will buy it and have a more positive feedback from the community.
10 (part 3). A POKEMON GO SHOP! I would love to buy Pokémon GO gear directly through Niantic or the Pokémon Center to support this game and the Pokémon Company. Badges/Pins, Hats, Clothes, Shoes, Duffle Bags, Bottles of different kinds, gloves, accessories for in-game avatars, and stickers!!!
I know many players have been at Niantic’s throats, but that’s because we love this game. If anyone from Niantic, Pokémon Company, or Nintendo reads this. Please help us out here.
Best Regards,
