When did we last get a confirmed Direct ahead of time? Nintendo tweeted that a Direct is coming in June, and they told us there will be no "Switch 2" announcements.

When do you think the direct will be? What do you think will be in this Direct?
I'm thinking the Direct is end of the month because Luigi's Mansion 2 trailers keep dropping. If the direct were before Luigi's Mansion 2, they save trailers for it.
What Nintendo games do you expect? If Nintendo's devs are busy with "Switch 2" games, will this be the year of farmed out ports? I'm sure some want the Zelda and Metroid ports that have been in rumors for years. NES championship edition is a summer release. Are there no Pokemon games this year?
What third party games could be announced? I expect indies, but what bigger games belong in a direct? Fantasy Life and Metal Slug Tactics come this fall. There is Ace Combat 7 coming in July. Someday Silksong will rise…
Are there any obvious options I don't see? What are your wildest predictions? Will there be a surprise drop?

Think I’m basically just here for FE4 Remake and SE’s catalog (of which there should be quite a lot).

And… let’s be brave they also port Star Fox Zero. But with a control scheme playable by humans.
Since Luigi’s Mansion 2 means Nintendo is actively exploring 3DS ports to fill out the remainder of Switch’s lifecycle I really hope they consider Samus Returns and Kid Icarus Uprising
Also with strong rumors around Mistwalker putting Fantasian on consoles and PC I hope this is a sign we could potentially get their other console games playable on modern systems. I completely think The Last Story needs the Xenoblade DE treatment

I be watching just for a new fire emblem game even though I know the likelihood of that is slim to nonexistent
Unlikely but Remaster/Remake bundle of Star Fox Adventures + Assault and an F-Zero GX Remake would be nice (pls Nintendo!)
Mother 3 gets a western release but only in Japan
Hmmmm… it is kind of weird here in the latter stage of a console’s life where most of the big wants are already out there. So, I doubt we’d get any Legends: Z-A announcements outside of a PKMN Direct, at this point Prime 4 is a future-system release, and with new mainline entries in Zelda, Mario, Fire Emblem, and Xenoblade all dropping in the past year or two, their next big new titles will be future-system releases.
Wildest predictions? Metroid Prime: Federation Force port or sequel, 20+ forgettable farming sims, a Fire Emblem remake for 2025, Chibi-Robo HD collection, Animal Crossing Warriors, a standalone Meta Knightmare game, and please, please, please, please, please, please, please Astral Chain 2.
Highly likely we’ll get a full reveal of the Dragon Quest HD-2D Remake.

Pokémon Z-A is 2025 release. After Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Nintendo World Championship there’s nothing else from them we know about until this Direct. (OK, fine, technically Metroid Prime 4, but let’s be real, that’s going to be a dual release for both Switch/2)
There’s going to be something zelda related because aside from 2022, Nintendo has had 1 zelda release a year for a long time now. Either a remaster of an old game or a multi-player game like Triforce heroes and fourswords adventures. TOTK Warriors might happen, but not this direct.
Mario’s 40th is coming up, so we might get mario 3D all stars 2 with 3D land and Galaxy 2, or just 3D Land by itself. The original NSMB is almost 20, so they might remake it, with Wonder’s online added. New Mario party seems like a safe bet, maybe brand new boards with superstars mechanics.
Nintendo has been on a roll with remakes and sequels of dormant IP, so maybe a Remaster of Codename S.T.E.A.M, ever oasis, or chibi robo.
A Kirby spinoff seems like a safe bet. Fire Emblem, most likely a remake, seems like a safe bet. Metriod Prime 2 and 3 is also a safe bet. The switch is slowing down, and most big 1st party studios have probably moved to Switch 2 games development. So just expect remake, remasters, and spinoffs to be most of what gets announced.

I’m not expecting much new stuff but a lot of ports and remasters.
I want the direct to feature games I want to play. That’s all I ask. 🤷🏻 I go in never expecting anything and am pleased if I see anything I like. Im not owed anything by Nintendo.

I’d like at least 1 Nintendo developed new game this fall. I get they’re trying to pad the schedule with remasters and remakes until the new console so I’m not expecting many new games.
WW and TP are the one only thing I want left for the Switch before its successor. It’s the only two mainline Zelda games that aren’t currently available on the Switch
Please can we have a new Mario Baseball game? I would take the GC version as it is but in HD.

We’re getting a flurry of announcements again for indies and other c-list titles. This usually happens within a week or two of the actual direct
What I’m hoping for is Wind Waker and Twilight Princess ports, Metroid Prime 4, more N64 games added like Smash bros 64, Donkey Kong 64, and Gameboy Pokemon games.
Xenoblade X and the HD versions of TP and WW would be great to see, finally bringing over some of the last major Wii U games that haven’t come over yet (not sure if there’s any others). TP specifically has been heavily rumored for a bit now, I remember seeing some leaks about it happening soon, but nothing concrete. Alongside them, I could see FE getting something, wether that be a remake of 4 or whatever. Few smaller titles here and there, and if we’re lucky, Prime 4 (though I highly doubt it, it’s probably been pushed back to the Switch 2 now.

My bet: a boat load of remakes and remasters. Go all out with them this year so they’re backwards compatible on Switch 2. WWHD, TPHD, Xenoblade X, etc.

As for new stuff Id like a new Megaman, MP4 Trailer & Release date, everything else ima let them surprise me.

Prime suspects (in my opinion) are a Luigi’s Mansion 1 port/remaster, Zelda WW/TP HD ports (maybe as a combo pack?) to hit the holiday window, a Fire Emblem 4 remake announcement, and Metroid Prime 2/3 up-scale with reworked controls (shadow drop?).
I do think they’ll finally put out a solid trailer on Metroid Prime 4, but I’m not sure if they’ll nail down a release window.
I’m feeling a new Mario spin-off for the holiday; maybe a new Mario Party game?
Unlikely due to the lack of an announcement on Pokemon Day, but it feels incredibly odd that Pokemon would miss a holiday season with a new title. Perhaps a Gen VI port and upscale to prime the audience for Kalos with Legends ZA in the same way BDSP primed the audience for Sinnoh? Let’s Go Johto has always been an interesting idea in my mind, but it seems that Pikachu/Eevee was only ever planned as a one-off. I could also see Gen 1/2/3 being put on the eShop as stand-alone downloads with HOME compatibility, but I’m not holding my breath.
Definitely some indie announcements, though I’m doubtful about Silksong. Not sure which third party game from last generation will get a port, but there’s got to be at least one they’ll announce.
I think it’s almost inevitable that they’ll be a sizzle reel for NSO titles coming up. My hope is that they flesh out the Rare titles on N64 with Diddy Kong Racing and DK64 at least, but I really would love to see Banjo Tooie as well. I think it’s time for Super Smash Bros (N64) to finally come over as well; imagine the advertisement for online multiplayer! Otherwise, I predict a huge push for GBA games given the relatively small catalog available at the moment.
[Small side note: it sucks how inconsistent Nintendo is with putting up old games alongside their remakes on the platform. I can play Link’s Awakening DX on GB NSO despite the HD remake being on the Switch, for example, but I can’t play Super Mario RPG on SNES NSO or Mario vs. Donkey Kong on GBA NSO. Just pick a lane!]
My left-field pick is a 2D Zelda remaster. Oracles would be huge, but I have a feeling they might dip into Minish Cap.
Anything other than Wind Waker and I will be disappointed.
