I’ve been researching Yōkai (essentially creatures from Japanese folklore) for over a month now and I was fascinated to discover that they were actually the influence for many Pokémon!
Lombre is based on the Kappa.
Raichu is a Raiju.
Mawile is a Futakuchi-onna.
And the list goes on!
