I tried it just for 10 min on Dusk Mane and didn't spawn a single Tyrunt anyway, so no way to even know if they are boosted lmao

The thing that's annoyed me the most about this event is how they've grouped the research. I thought they would pair them up, in which case I would just be hunting the tirtouga / archen task and ignoring the cranidos / shieldon task and amaura / tyrunt task because I have the shinies. But nope not Niantic, instead they've got this weird trio system purposefully designed to stop you hunting any specific fossil pair you're chasing. I'm convinced a lot of their recent events have completely been preventing shiny hunters doing their thing instead making it so you have a much wider range of shinies you can't intentionally avoid to get the ones you actually want.

This was one of my favorite events from previous years! They made it so bad now! They should have just done the same as last year when they had tortuga, tyrant, amaura,and Archen in the wild! So lame!!
I'm not saying that you're wrong but your sample size really matters with these kinds of things. With 250 tyrunt shiny checks, 20% of people will not have found one yet based on the math. 1/64 is not very high when it comes to odds so you could just be unlucky
I have a tyrunt nest near my house but never got a shiny before this event and I now have 2 from the wild in like 20 checks

I tried using Dusk Mane Necromza's Sunsteel Strike effects yesterday and ended up getting my 3rd Shiny Fomantis instead! ✨☀️
No shinies to be found. All hype to fool players
