After reading all the comments on my first post, I decided to try a split evo idea based on a white knight/dark knight theme.
The split would be based on the lore of a kingdom in civil war: one prince stands for tradition and the status-quo, while his brother starts a rebellion. I originally thought the dark knight would be fire/dark, but not all rebellions are inherently "evil". So, when I thought about what armor item would evolve it I immediately thought of dragonscale armor and how dragons and knights are always fighting in myth.
Now my question is, what stats and abilities would make sense?
For a new signature ability, I was thinking something like "Lancer" (boosts piercing & slamming moves) for Regallion (Flame Charge would be nasty). For Dragellion, maybe something like "Draconification" that makes normal moves dragon type + 20% boost, or "Avenger" that boosts atk & sp.atk for each fainted party member?
For OG abilities, both could keep Flash Fire from Rapidash or have Battle Armor given their lore. Regallion could have Justified, Steely Spirit, or Vital Spirit. Dragallion could have either Defiant, Own Tempo, or Contrary.
For stats, Regallion would definately have higher defense while Dragallion has higher speed. I'm also thinking of having Regallion be high attack while Dragallion is mixed to take advantage of a mixed move-pool.
