Quick post. Found out that Biri-Biri existed last night, and that got the creative juices flowing. Revived an idea for a Pokemon fanfiction I'd wanted to write because of how much I enjoyed the cast of Scarlet and Violet. Got me thinking about what I want to do with various members of the cast, including Nemona and her family, who are so largely unknown despite having (indirectly) clearly had a big impact on her, in my opinion.
So in case I want to use it, I tried to get any inkling of an idea of where Nemona is originally from. So I went to Bulbapedia.
The first non-Paldean Pokemon she gets? Rockruff.
The bits below this only apply if you pick Sprigatito.
Her team during the Pecharunt event? Quaqaval, Pawmot, Lycanroc, Goodra. The fully evolved forms of her original four. Fair enough. Then she replaced her only other two Paldean Pokemon, Orthworm and Dudunsparce, with Kommo-o and Ribombee.
Her final battle team in the League Club Room? Her Goodra is replaced by Decidueye. Why would GameFreak swap out one of her main stays and make the final team of a character introduced in Paldea an Alolan supermajority, unless she has some sort of connection to them? Like, perhaps, being from their native region?
For the other two starters, the Ribombee is replaced with a Milotic or a Dusknoir, and her Goodra replaced by an Infernape or a Greninja, respectively. No Alolan majority, but with all of the generational variety Pokemon has to offer, the fact that Alola still gets two of those coveted spots still sticks out to me.
Then there's her dad's job. Rotom Phones might've first appeared in Galar, but we can't forget that the first time the player had a Rotom possessing an electronic of theirs was the Rotom Dex of Alola.
tl;dr – Nine regions, but Nemona's strongest team of 6 is made up of anywhere from 2 to 4 Alolan Pokemon. And her dad is on the board of the Rotom Phone company. First time player got a Rotom at the start? Alola's Rotom Dex. Just a coincidence? Who knows.
