Pretty simple, I’m up against the Old Man at the end of the Master Ball Pokècup. It’s been a long run of incredibly infuriating RNG, and at least my 5th attempt so far.
He plays Lapras, Tauros and Moltres. I run rental Nidoqueen, rental Lapras and Lv 55 Jolteon from Pokemon Blue. I’ll spare you the details on the majority of the fight, it was painful but not really relevant.
Anyway, we’re down to our last Pokemon each. His Moltres is sitting at 32HP, and my Nidoqueen is at full HP (166/166).
Naturally, Moltres goes first and throws a Fire Blast. No worries, I can tank that, right?
Nope. It’s a non-crit OHKO on NQ. I am puzzled. So I did some research.
Moltres has an exactly 0% chance of OHKOing NQ with Fire Blast. It’s just not possible. I hate this game.
I’m not exactly an expert on Pokemon, but there might be something I’ve missed here, so I’d love to hear any insights.
