This one felt rough (not much choice I had for Ice Strike Sync Pairs), but I always believed in Irida & Glaceon, and it got to the point where I had to become creative and think outside the box with how to go about this. I think Sygna Suit N & Kyurem would have been a solid pick too, but I wanted to go with Irida instead, and I initially had a Status Spam Strategy but due to issues like extra time lost from Hail damage, I would only be stuck at around the 600-700k range with Melony & Lapras for Sing Spam, and I would alternate between Red & Snorlax and Neo Champion Blue & Zapdos.
Eventually, I gave up on the status spam and this is where the creativity comes in If I can only use Iris’s Sync Move twice instead of 3 times, what if I at least make it even more powerful as well? This was achievable with support like Red & Snorlax and Chase & Pikachu who not only helped with means like Supereffective Up (Red) and Kanto Circle/Special Moves Up (chase) as well as Sprint/Sync Move Countdown benefits, I tried this out and was very pleased with how this all panned out. It did require some luck along the way as it required several uses of specific trainer moves (You and Me!, Let’s Go Everyone!) for even more Sync Move Countdown reduction and more benefits for Irida. All of this in mind, I was somehow able to pull off nearly 1 million in terms of this score, but 986,499 is still enough despite there probably being potential to do better. However, I am calling it there for this challenge. If only I had new Champion Red & Articuno…
Next time’s Fire Solo Damage Challenge will be difficult, but maybe I can pull something off. I hope to get something like 750k, but I also have my sanity to worry about. The last few of these haven’t been smooth sailing for me, but I hope that can change soon. Come on N and Reshiram!
