I posted these yesterday too but have since worked on them a lot more! I’m basing this region off of Long Island, specifically the South Fork. Also nothing is named atm
-grass starter: based off of the extinct Carolina parakeet. It’s supposed to represent the upper / rich class and become a fancy grass/fairy type
-water starter: based off of New Yorks official animal the beaver! It’s supposed to represent the working / middle class and become a water/steel type
-fire starter: based off the Chinese Zodiac rat. It’s supposed to represent the lower class, and I also thought it was fitting for a New York region because of the ny sewer rats. Becomes fire/dark
My first dilemma is that I really dislike having two different rodent starters. But the beaver and rat are just soooo fitting imo. I could perhaps change the rat to a horse, because in the furthest area of the south fork there are some ranches, and horses used to be used to pull carriages. And then have the horse be working class and beaver lower class… But idk I’m really attached to the rat and beaver 😭 my second dilemma is the coloring for all of them. Idk if they look good or not, and would like second opinions. Would also like to have feedback on the general designs and what’s good/bad, I’m trying to improve! ^
As for the map, it’s an early Wip as well, would like to know if y’all think i should add anything
