I got back to working on my starters and tweaked my grass ones look a bit! I’m happy with the balance of canon colouring style mixed with my own, trying to imitate it exactly is exhausting!
A little lore:
Marellion is the grass starter of the (as yet unnamed) region that lives in forested bogs and swamps. Originally thought to be a malevolent Ghost/Water type that would trick explorers into riding it to try and drown them, in the modern day it’s been proven they are actually a Grass/Dark type that shies away from humans. They produce a sticky sap through their skin that mixes with the mud and forms a protective coating. It’s thought that this is what people of yore would get stuck to when attempting to take wild individuals, only for the pókemon to panic and thrash about in the river.
