I hate these cards. I love the art… When combined… But the cards themselves, in my opinion, butcher the art by literally cutting it in half. There aren’t a way to sleeve/protect these while also appreciating their art to the maximum extent. Glad they don’t make em like these anymore…

Hard to find these on the secondary market. I go to large card shows and always ask if vendors have HGSS/B&W and the answer I always get is I just have from XY and beyond…. lol

I love these cards. I pulled the top of Lugia and bottom of Ho-Oh as a kid and never managed to find their counterparts. As an adult with adult money I’m hoping to one day complete them.

To each their own for sure but to me these cards are just a mess of clashing colours, and the warped text looks so early 2000s photoshop. I do like them for their uniqueness though

Got the top part of Raikou & Suicune and bottom half of Ho-oh. Never understood the occasional hype they get, for me the art is not clear enough and I strongly dislike the horizontal orientation, same goes for Break.

As an illustrator, the art is beautiful. As a graphic designer, the text placement is absolutely atrocious.
Looks fun to play tho. Wish i had gotten into the game when these cards came out

Honestly this is why I actually gave up Pokémon… shit really ain’t worth it anymore. It was a sad decision to give up something so precious and sentimental to me but the new Pokémon are just fucking ass and I can’t logically justify spending so much on such a disappointing thing. Though that being said if I ever see another Tina (lost origin, ancient origins) or dragon (dragons exalted) set I’m making a comeback.
