    This is one of my favorite cards in existence. I still have my Dragonite holo from my childhood collection, but to have one in 1st edition is fantastic. Congratulations on the pull!

    I remember back around Y2K I’d go and play at the Pokemon TCG events at Toys R Us.

    I remember the guy running the event, presumably a Toys R Us employee, had a colorless dragon deck that featured this draggy.

    That’s so awesome! I’ve sold most of my holo’s and kept the non-holo versions for the artwork, it’s nice to see it so fresh!

    I pulled this exact card when I was a kid.

    My dad took me to a Pokemon convention and on our way out, a woman was selling first edition fossil packs. I asked my dad if I could have one and he asked her how much it was and she said some ridiculous figure (I remember it being £60 but it surely couldn’t have been that much) and my dad was outraged at the price but bought it for me anyway. I opened it and pulled the first edition Dragonite and I was so stoked.

    Then I showed it to my friends and my friend offered me his unlimited Charizard for it. I kept telling him no, and he kept throwing in extra cards to sweeten the deal. I really didn’t want to trade but he was really insistent and I ended up trading the Dragonite for his Charizard and some other cards. I’m pretty sure the Charizard is still in my attic somewhere.

    I had this card as a kid, it was one of my favorites bc it’s just so cute ! Recently I was going through my old childhood stuff and found some cards, pokemon & yu gi oh. But I was wondering where my « good » cards were (holos, rares etc) because I couldn’t find my binders. Then I found a note at the bottom of the box where I had written instructions for my dad to sell my cards on eBay when I was like 14… it was like ‘selling price : 8€ per pack of 50 cards with 2-3 holos’ 🫠 those were all WOTC (with some first editions), Ruby & Sapphire, Diamond & Pearl.
    I couldn’t have anticipated how expensive they would become obviously but I still feel a little dumb lol. I regret it not for the money but because I really miss that collection, wish I had kept more of my good OG cards. I miss my Shining Magikarp.

    I’ll probably buy a vintage pack one day if I find a good deal, just to get that feeling of opening the old boosters.

    My favorite card i own. Bought mine off eBay that had the luck of having a swirl coming out behind his butt. It’s perfect with his expression lol.
