Pokemon Trading Card Game

Owner kept them all for himself 🤣🤣

Anyone who’s going to “battle” to buy Pokemon cards is pathetic. Aside from a few packs I’ve arranged to buy from my local toy store I’m sitting this set out too. It’s sad that a fun nostalgic collection hobby has now turned into this.

No Supreme Darkness set either? >:(

Honestly this set is so hyped up that we will all wonder why in like half a year. Great decision of the store to sit this one out.
Personally I actually dislike the special illustrations and prefer the 151 art, so I’ll enjoy the madness from a distance.

Maybe they’re legit, but there’s also a very good chance that stores claiming this are just choosing to sell on the secondary market at inflated prices from different accounts to avoid backlash on their store for selling above MSRP.
Wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen stuff like this happen.

I’m sure this set is worse than the sets released at the 2020/2021 peak. I was able to preorder products for those sets. I can’t seem to get anything for this one.

My usual store is looking after locals which is fair but I’m 150 miles away. My local joined the scalping bandwagon so don’t buy from them anymore. Several sets they instantly sold out only for me to find pictures of said sold out items on a private eBay listing with their shop in the background 🤣

Hey! I live near there too šŸ™‚

Bought one box of Terestral Festival, the appeal is guaranteed pulls.

The English pull rates are so bad that it kills any hype for the sets and makes it an easy skip.

LOL or they lying and backdooring hahaha.

Figured I would just clear the air for all the people commenting on this. I live near this particular shop. I have talked with the owner on several occasions about Pokemon cards. People are CRAZY. She is not hiding them for personal use, or reselling them. She is genuinely concerned for the safety of her small business that has been broken into THREE times within the past 6 years and when they have *ONLY* taken Pokemon cards. I understand that you all might be thinking that most stores that say they don’t have the new set might be doing something fishy with the cards- but I can assure you that this shop is not. I’m sure she would appreciate not having comments of accusing the shop of doing something weird with them.

This really worries me honestly. I know you are joking but I do think there will be tragic incidents involving this set and more to come. I think it’s incumbent on us to press this up the food chain to get this solved

Whoever is in charge of this NEEDS to start printing more. I assume they don’t because they have this schedule they need to keep but something needs to change.

I think the only way to get through to them in this is to press influencers to press them. I’m sure if a wave of media is strong enough it can drive change.

I think it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep discussing this and maybe do what you can to get the mainstream media to pick it up too.

I really enjoyed my last year as part of this hobby. But it’s not fair what is going on with supply and there is going to be real problems if they don’t address either it or the scalping.

Even reputable card shops are already selling a set that isn’t out at over MSRP. Totally unacceptable.

I survived the Van Gogh museum raid so this will be an easy battle šŸŖ–

Its entirely the resellers/scalpers that attracting the worst types of people to the hobby looking for their next ā€œhustleā€

  14. enigmicazn

Wouldn’t be surprised if their allocation numbers were low and owner just decided they’d rather keep for themselves or sell them for market.

  15. saltydifference206

Hey there. Speaking from a friend who has a card store.

Apparently Pokemon did some research and analysed stores who had ordered products and their prices and price history and what they’ve been offering to customers. LCS that that sell at MSRP (RRP) have been allocated their stock and stores that were price gouging and having expensive pre orders were neglected.

I feel really bad for getting back into the hobby at this point, I’m finally an adult with a well paying job and I can finally live out my fantasies as a kid by ripping a pack or two every day and maybe grabbing a etb or booster box every now and then. I don’t resell and I’m doing it for my own collection but after the past couple weeks in this hobby I see that there’s insane supply/demand issues and I feel like I’m ruining it for everyone else jumping back on ship so late.

  17. SamMerlini

“Investors”. Can’t wait them to quit soon enough.

  18. russart_the_agmer

ngl as a small store owner i would totally also either wait a while or just not sell them. it would be so annoying to handle people with that attitude.. really sad tho

  19. mr_j_12

Waiting to see this with hotwheels locally too. Shits nuts.

  20. IM_INSIDE_YOUR_HOUSE

The resellers/scalpers/ā€œinvestorsā€ who buy these cards in bulk only to dump 99% of the cards just to treat them like a 401k are truly some of the most pathetic people. I know this sort of thing should be a wake up call to them but also how they’ll just think it’s the *other* people who are the problem.

  21. djdeforte

Nobody likes Shrouded Fable. I quite enjoyed collecting it. It’s everywhere and no one is fighting over it and the prices are reasonable.

  22. no-sky-524

Having to not sell a new set for the safety of workers in actually so distopian

  23. OneWhoGetsBread

These local stores sometimes jack up prices too

But that’s good they are putting safety over manchild NeckBeard investors

Unless all the cards aren’t being shown yet

  24. NachoCheeseVolcano69

Good for them for calling out entitled collectors. Some of you here fail to acknowledge they exist or that you are one.

  25. TheAvantGardeners

Investment bros ruining everything. Why don’t they just buy stocks like a normal adult if they are really keen on making money?

  26. Longjumping-Point332

This shit has gone too far. They need to start arresting anyone getting physical and set buy limits
