As you can see, I prefer Grass-type starters, with Treecko being my favorite.
I usually build teams of Pokemon that I like, but I also like to balance and rarely repeat typings because it's something I really don't like.
The fact that Unova has two teams is only because I treat B2W2 as separate games that are continuations of their predecessors, unlike the third versions that change little besides additional Pokemon, post-game, etc. and also because Unova is one of my favorite regions and I have equal love for Serperior and Samurott.
Also, I like to make teams that are fully regional, that is, make teams with Pokemon that are regional from the respective region or adicional evolutions that is in that region
