Pokemon

My map design for a Nordic Region. What do you think? Do you have any ideas?

These cities (locations) are based on real-life cities. So when I am referring to them I will use that name. Just thought that I should explain where each city is if you aren't familiar with the Geography:

Aarhus – The most southern city (part of Denmark). Copenhagen – To the right of Aarhus on the island (part of Denmark).

Jönköping – The most southern city in the Swedish part. Stockholm – The eastern city in Sweden. Östersund – The central city in Sweden. Kiruna – The northern city in Sweden.

Bergen – The southern city in Norway (left of Sweden). Trondheim – The "northern" city in Norway.

Rovaniemi – The northern city in Finland (east of Sweden). Uleå – The central city in Finland. Helsinki – The southern city in Finland. Turku – The western city in Finland. Åland – The Island in between Finland and Sweden (belongs to Finland).

Reykjavik – Iceland

Okay, so now let's move on to the fun stuff. Though I haven't thought out any of the story, only the general progression. Do you have any ideas?

My idea is that you start in Jönköping, get your starter, the tutorial and everything.

Then you are sent to battle your first gym leader in Stockholm, and get the HM Rock Smash. (HM's work like in bdsp). Which is also the biggest city. (By the way, the route up to Östersund is already open. So if you go to the end of it you reach an Ice Area, with Ice types. Though you can't enter Östersund itself yet).

Then you go to Bergen which is more mountainous. The path to and from Bergen is also very rainy and gloomy, and Rock Smash is needed. There you battle your second Gym leader.

Then you don't have to, but it is highly advised that you go to Trondheim next. Technically the route up to Östersund from Stockholm has completely opened up and you can reach the city from there and there isn't any gym leader in Trondheim. But from there you can take the ferry to Iceland! Which has a volcano theme with a lot of Ice types. There is a big mandatory cave going from Bergen to Trondheim though.

Then you reach Östersund and battle your third gym leader. You also get the HM Surf. To progress north you need Strength.

So you wander down again to Jönköping and battle your fourth Gym Leader on the way.

Then you use Surf to get to Copenhagen (second biggest city). You battle the Gym Leader there and get your fitfh badge, and Strength.

Aarhus isn't strictly necessary, but you can revive the fossils there which you get from the cave between Bergen and Trondheim.

Now you can go up from Östersund to Kiruna, the path up there is tough with a lot of snow. Like route 217 in Sinnoh. Then you defeat the Gym Leader and get your sixth badge.

Then you go to Rovaniemi which has big Christmas theme, and Christmas market which valuable things that you can only get there.

Then you proceed to Uleå and beat the seventh Gym Leader there.

Afterwards you get to Helsinki and do the same to get your eighth badge.

Next stop is Turku, but on the way there you have to go through the Victory Road.

Then you can take the ferry from there to Åland, on which the Pokemon League is located (and the Battle Tower, accessible first in the Post Game). Once you have beaten the game the ferry can now also go to Stockholm. Allowing you to more easily go from Stockholm/Åland/Turku.
