Pokemon

I’m trying to get my little brother into older Pokemon games where should I start (I only have gba and ds games)

Side note he’s not that good at games so that’s why black and white aren’t here

The in-universe chronological order is FireRed, Emerald, HeartGold, Platinum.

Even if you don’t completely follow that order, just make sure to do FireRed before HeartGold because the Johto games were direct sequels to the Kanto games.

Id probably give him heart gold. The game mechanics making it a little faster paced will most likely keep him from getting bored so quickly. I replayed emerald recently and forgot how much I didn’t like not being able to sprint every where lol.

FR/LG Could be a good start if you want that gen 1 experience.

    What about SS/HG?

Soul Silver / Heart Gold 🔥♥️

HGSS. The phys/special split will help him severely with learning how to play, and it’s a pretty easy game to get a hold of.

Platinum. Go for Platinum. The mechanics of Gen 3 feels archaic.

Heart gold its cool and easy, also thyploshion or totodile are going to get him

I would go with fire red or leaf green

How much older are we talking? Would suggest BW to start then BW2, past that a good classic would be Either fire red or Leaf green for GBA. If not just toss him a bit into it with Heart Gold and soul silver. Which is legit the only game where you could play it with a touch screen and the Dpad.

Why not black, white and black 2 and white 2?

I would definitely say that they are the easiest games on the DS. because of changes in how XP is gained, it almost completely eliminates needing to grind for any boss

It also after the physical/special split that makes a lot of pokemon viable to use and the level scaling is done really well
