Skellipo, the Tail Pokemon

(Ignore where I tried to write the dex entry and gave up lol)

Dex entry: This pokemon is said to be the ghost of a species that was hunted to extinction by humans

Another pokemon for an appalachia region. Based off the story of the tailypo (which terrified me as a child lol). Here's a cliffnotes of the legend:

There's an old man who lives in the woods with his three dogs. This was a time of extreme hunger for everyone. One day while hunting, the man spotted some creature in the tree and shot at it, managing to shoot its tail off but the creature itself fled into the woods with a cry. Still, not wanting to waste any food during these hard times, the man took the tail back home, skinned it, and used it to make a crude soup for him and his dogs. They went to bed with at least something in their bellies that night.

Then, in the middle of the night, he hears a strange noise outside and sends the dogs to investigate. When only two of the three come back, he's set on edge. The noise continues, getting closer, sounding inside the house now. He sends the dogs back out. Only one comes back this time. Now the noise is outside his door. Loyal to its master, the third dog goes to confront the intruder, though its growls stop once it's out of sight. Then the old man, paralyzed with fear in bed, hears the noise in the room with him now.

The creature from earlier crawls onto his bed, staring with large eyes that reflect in the dark. Then, surprisingly, it speaks.

"Give me back my tailypo…"

"I- I don't have your tail!"

"Yes, you have my tailypo… it's right there…"

With those words, it climbs onto the man's stomach, determined to get back its tailypo, claws tearing into the man to do so.

Anyway, I got told this when I was 7 or 8 and I slept in my mom's bed for a few months. Appalachian folklore is just different.
