I’m working on a design inspired by Dia de Muertos and La Catrina—with a bit of Darkrai thrown in—but I’m struggling with what her color palette should be. The orange is the only thing I won’t change, as yellow/orange marigolds are an important color during the holiday, and her dress is specifically supposed to be lined with them. I’m also not fond of the black dress versions, as I feel it makes her look too Halloween-y, but my partner thinks it looks better.
The primary issue, ultimately, is the color of her skeleton. I like all the colors I have currently, I just don’t know which should be the final one. White and pink are more obvious choices, and I like the green because it gives her a corpse-like appearance.
So, I figured I’d ask other folks for their opinions on the color palette and see if I can find some kind of general consensus. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!
