The cards were both sent out in immaculate condition, both came back ungraded with paint chips.

How’d they not get graded at least?

What’s with the gold holo all over the borders and on the pokemon writing on the back? Are these some sort of promo/special edition? Can only ever recall seeing the art holo on these ones

Here is video of the condition right before it was sent out
Form what I was told they don’t grade them anymore.
teamdragonite
how do you know it didnt happen during shipping there? just curious
PaperGeno
Sorry this happened to you man.
This is one of the many reasons why grading is a scam and why you should NEVER send anything away for grading.
lordofhunger1
Shit, I just sent mine in
AltKeyblade
These cards in PSA 10s are really gonna be expensive, huh.
The fact that they keep flip flopping on grading these is interesting
Bananers_
I graded my metal cards with CGC. I did have to send them back because they left a ton of dust and debris in the slabs and to reinspect a card that was [damaged](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemoncards/s/FMaFPov916) on their end (that they refuse to take accountability for)
I do like the feel of CGC’s slabs more than PSA

Grading is a scam
UpbeatIsopod7709
Has anyone here graded with PSA and used a penny sleeve then top loader or do you use a penny sleeve and card saver ? Which does PSA prefer when grading ?
Alipoetry27
Aren’t those fake?
VoidBoiTCG
These are just like the YGO cards. The amount of whiting they can get just from sleeving them can be insane
DannyDangerShow
Always photograph and document the cards and shipping before you send anything out for grading.
AFDoubleRockslide
They don’t grade these . There’s no results on the app or the website when selecting these to grade. Why did you send them in anyway ?
OneWorldliness1792
Did you put a minimum grade when submitting them? That’s the only reason I could see they would return them
General-Sleep-804
Oh okay my bad I still don’t know very much either about pokémon so that’s why I thought they could have been fake I’m sorry
spicy_curry68
I just got mine back in about a month ago as well. They did not grade them and gave me a refund on the service.
The_Niteman
Did you photograph prior to sending? I always do that to make sure there is no funny business if PSA sends it back damaged or graded with some sort of change in quality from when I sent it. Stuff can always happen with shipping tho too.
Nottsguy_1982
See if Ace will grade them as their artwork tops to their slabs are beautiful 😊👍

Part of why all my Base and Jungle set cards from the 90s will remain ungraded. Sad cause I would love to assess the value of them (All base holos majority never played, several shadowless), but grading always seems like flipping a coin to see if your cards are damaged/lost or or actually fairly assessed.
If these are the metal ones I read that they stopped grading them specifically because it was too difficult to do it without damaging them or something along those lines.
Dependent-Cap3789
I sent mine in about 3 months ago, the problem with these metal cards are that a lot of them came damaged in the box, they have a burn mark on the top of them from the factory cutting them
Khoancy
I sent mine in January currently is in the assembly line right now. The pictures they provided don’t have damages so far but I’m still waiting for it to ship back to me within next week I hope!
Illustrious-Owl-8908
Ouch. I sent mine to cgc and graded
ArticleStrange8445
I plan to hold my cards for years so no sense in investing in grading right now. Who knows what the preferred grading company/method will be in 5-10 years anyway? PSA grades could become less valuable.
the-beef-supreme
I had some sports cards returned damage from PSA grading, they graded them lower rather than sending them back ungraded.
I’m thinking with the backlog of submissions, they are rushing through more than ever right now.
LividAd7488
Those cards look fake
AceHitSuperstar
I forget which company but there’s at least one I’ve seen will put it in a sleeve before slabbing
gengarjuice69
thats really frustrating, i had a similar situation recently with a submission. send in a pc etb promo and it came back apparently do not holder – miscut or something. the geniuses put it back into the card saver without a sleeve
NL7_Deci
I sent mine in in January, came back last month as a 9
