I started living in Tokyo in December, and I was missing my cardboard crack (previously a MtG player) so finally got the courage to try Pokémon for the first time.
Language barrier is a little tricky, lots of unique vocabulary here. But thanks to my meh Japanese skills and various translation tools I was able to follow the explanations and actually play some Pokémon!
Overall great experience, and so far enjoying the game too! Much more depth than I was expecting! The players here all seem very nice too – so if anyone else in Tokyo was thinking of embarking on a local Pokémon journey like me feel free to msg!
TLDR: played Pokémon in Japan, was fun and encourage others to try!
