during a recent trip to okinawa, i learned that growlithe is an ambassadorial pokemon for the prefecture. not only that, it’s the eleventh appointed pokemon ambassador haha
for context, i am chinese-american. i knew very little about okinawa before visiting, so it was a pleasant surprise to learn about the chinese cultural influence there.
