Actually, it was only Pigeot. He took all of them to Orange Islands and then Jhoto.

  3. ConfidenceSilent3967

He did this shi every new gen

  4. Opposite_Switch_7160

Would’ve made more sense to say after the Johto League, or the Sinnoh League, or the Unova League

Tried it after the Battle Frontier, but Aipom had other plans, and he just went home to relax after Kalos, Alola was supposed to just be a quick vacation

Ash: “Oh no, my Charizard one-shot this guy’s Pokemon, I’m too strong and need to start over!”

Also Ash: “My overleveled Pikachu is plenty weak enough.”

  6. Someordinaryguy1994

After, johto, hoenn, sinnoh, and probably other gens

  7. theleeman14

(ash looking at all his pokemon): “hmmmm, only one so I pick… the one with the objective lowest base stats!”

  8. DarkP88

Ash decided to leave behind all his pokemon to start from scratch and have a fairer journey. Only he took his Pikachu that probably was about to reach level 100 in the XY season. Yeah, very fair.

  9. SquishyBunz69

Not really. Ash took most of his Pokémon to Johto.

Advanced Generation was the real trend setter. First time Ash adventures through a region with new pokémon, a new outfit, and new companions. Advanced Generation is also the first time Kanto is mentioned by name.

You chose about the one time he *didn’t* do that.

And pikachu lost weight due to having to deal with ash

  12. BacKgRouNDC11H15NO2

Pika pika. = Sparkling or Shining. Yeah makes sense that Ash would keep a lvl 100 Pika c h u while starting over.

  13. PrimalPokemonPlayer

More like Ash after every League. Only Aipom fought back, then got traded away, and then he went away because he “loves playing ping pong”. Yeah right… Don’t try to stick with Ash after a journey. He’ll make sure you disappear for good this time.

It wasn’t really until Hoen that this happened for the first time and then occurred after every region. Yes most of Johto eventually shifted to a newer team, but a large chunk of the others did make returns in League matches I’m pretty sure.

  15. RetSauro

Ash kept the Kanto starters for a good while after the indigo league and up to Jhoto. He even used Charizard for the first and last gym and Jhoto and all three in the Jhoto league.

  16. NerdNuncle

Wasn’t there an episode with a salty Pidgeot training with Ash after being forgotten for so long?

  17. Beans4802

There really is a Spongebob scene for everything.
