I'm less so focussed on the quality of the cards and the specific pokemon featured (though I'm not a fan of either) and more so on the fact that they chose to put pokemon from a TRIO in a PAIR of products. Not only that but these pokemon and I believe these exact cards both appear in the same half of the set in the japanese version. I feel like there have to be so many other options to duo as ETB promos. Zekrom and Reshiram, Braviary and Mandibuzz, Accelgor and Escavalier, Carracosta and Archeops, Heatmor and Durant, Sawk and Throh. Hell there's even gen 5 pokemon with paired forms. White Kyurem and Black Kyurem, Aria and Pirouette Meloetta, Standard and Zen Darmanitan maybe? Just feeling some disappointment and confusing here.
