Interesting takes!
Reminds me a bit of an idea I had for a Hypno evolution that’s Psychic/Ghost and instead of stealing dreams, it begs/asks for them and has effectively starved itself out of guilt for terrorizing children. Based off of monks, beggars, and fakirs. Its name is Thanato (Given how Hypno forms Hypnos, the god of sleep, and Thanatos, god of death, is the brother of Hypnos in Greek mythology).
My Hypno thoughts:
– Steel Hypno: Paradox form based on intrusive advertisement (Like that one Futurama joke about advertisers turning your dreams into ads). Encountering a modern day Hypno is worrying because it might put you to sleep in the woods in self-defence, encountering a paradox Hypno is a pain because your only going to be able to think about Andrew’s Ultra-Max Potions™ for the next 8 hours. It having minmaxed stats like most Paradox mons also makes sense because these things would be *really* hated and attacked a lot.
– Fairy Hypno: More playful than psychic Hypno, leaning into hypnosis pranks like convincing other pokemon they are a different type or are a different person.
Also Warlock/Cult leader Dark Hypno is peak.
