The idea is interesting, I’d suggest making the columns larger and more stylized (and have 2 or 3 max). The shell is very large and the tree and mountains in the original Torterra are pretty big, that helps making it not look so empty.
Another thing you could do is making the flipper on the front larger than the ones in the back, but that’s up to you.

His shell should have coral reef on it instead of the columns. Some clam shells and star fish would be cool too
