[Lyndom Region] The Formidable Stone Walls…

The Formidable Stone Walls…

Dex Entries:

Granewt, the Quartzite Pokémon. Granewt live in caves where they sustain themselves by constantly munching on rocks. The stony sail on its back grows as it ages.

Mortarept, the Quartzite Pokémon; evolves from Granewt at Lv 25. Mortarept's back sails resemble the old stone walls that trail across rural Lyndom. It protects itself by burying itself so only the sails show.

Quartzilla, the Stone Wall Pokémon; evolves from Mortarept when traded/a linking cord is used. Quartzilla live on mountainous terrain, with plenty of boulders for them to devour. Quartzilla stores a powerful energy in the crags along its back.

Origins and Data:

This line of fakemon is based on the old stone walls seen around rural parts of New England. In the past, these were used as property boundaries and I incorporated that by giving these fakemon a territorial nature. Aside from stone walls, the Quartzilla line are based mostly on lizards, Dimetrodon, and stegosaurs as well as a certain giant monster from films.

Quartzilla has a special move it learns upon evolving, Earthen Roar. It opens its mouth and fires a beam of powerful earthen energy.

The Quartzilla line was designed as a sort of counterpart to the steel-type Wreckaton line I previously posted. Wreckaton and Quartzilla are rivals, and will fight each other on sight. Also, if there were two separate games for this region, Quartzilla's line would be available in Pokémon Rust, while Wreckaton's would be available in Pokémon Chrome. Did I just reveal my fakemon region's games' titles? Yes I did, because we'll be meeting the box legendaries in my next post…
